Slytherin Pride

Ostin (taas) itelleni jotain kivaa ja Potter-teemaista, tällä kertaa juhlistaen luihuisuutta. 

 

Ennestään minulla oli itseneulottu kaulahuivi Luihuisen tupaväreissä, mutta sitä en oo käyttäny vuosiin, koska tein siitä vähän liian pitkän ja leveän. Tätä uuttakaan en oo vielä päässy pitämään, koska on ollu niin lämpimät ilmat.

I bought (again) something nice and Potter-themed for myself, this time celebrating Slytherin-ness.

I already had a self-knitted scarf in Slytherin house colours, but I haven't worn it in years, because I made it a bit too long and wide. I haven't yet got the chance to wear the new one, since the weather's been too warm for that.

Voihan Merlinin pöksyt miten hieno miun uuen puhelimen uus kotelo on. ♥ Halusin ihan esitellä sen täällä. Potterismi virtaa siis miussa vahvana, jos joku ei vielä tienny. Muutenkin oon ollu tässä erityisen Potter-fiiliksissä, kun alotin kyseisen kirjasarjan lukemisen viime yönä taas triljoonatta kertaa, kun en saanu unta, ja samalla siemailin Slytherin-mukistani Pukan herkullista kamomilla-vanilja-hunajateetä. Sen jälkeen nukuttikin taas hyvin.

Oon viimeset kymmenen vuotta haaveillut pimeänpiirtotatuoinnista, ja jokin kaunis päivä otan vielä sen. Haluun kuitenkin semmosen persoonallisemman tatskan enkä sitä samanlaista leffaversioo, jonka kaikki pikkukuolonsyöjät on tatuoinu käteensä. Opiskelijabudjetti ei oo vaan sallinu noin isoja sijoituksia, mut joskus vielä!

Tänään laitoin päälle mustan nappiröyhelömekon, jonka napituksesta tulee mieleen aina Snape. Jos Snape ois nainen, se käyttäis varmasti tommosta mekkoo. Ihan varmasti. Ei sillä, ettei se vois käyttää tommosta miehenäkin...

Oh Merlin's pants how gorgeous the new flip case of my new phone is. ♥ I wanted to show it to you guys, too. The potterism is strong in me , in case someone didn't already know that. I've been feeling even more potteristic recently, since I started reading the series for the trillionth time yesterday night, when I couldn't get sleep, while sipping delicious chamomile-vanilla-honey tea by Pukka from my Slytherin mug. After that, I slept again like a baby.

For the last ten years, I've ween dreaming of getting a dark mark tattoo, and some beautiful day I'm going to get it. I want a more individual tattoo, though – not the same movie version every baby death eater has tattooed on their arm. The student budget hasn't allowed to have such big investments, but some day!

Today I wore a black, frilled dress with buttons. Its buttoning always brings Snape to mind. If Snape was a woman, she'd certainly wear a dress like that. Most certainly indeed. Not like he couldn't wear something like that as a man too...

Flea market finds

Kävinpä kiertelemässä torstaina Joensuun kirppareita, ja sieltähän löytyi jos jonkinmoista kivaa. Tässä teille parhaat palat; kaikkia pikku ostoksia en jaksanut alkaa kuvata.

Ensinnäkin ostin kaks mekkoo, joista molemmat on ehkä vähän yllättäviä valintoja miulle, koska kumpikaan ei oo musta. Jotenkin kuitenkin miellyin noihin, ja toi punanen mekko vois olla jopa hyvä juhannusmekko.

Sit vähän vähemmän yllättäviä vaatelöytöjä: kaks mustaa rimpsuhametta. Tykkään eniten just ton mallisista hameista. Toi ylempi kaipaa kylläkin ehkä hieman modausta, koska toi vyötäröosa on vähä turhan korkee.

Kenkäholisti ei myöskään voi välttyy kenkälöydöiltä. Sovitin tosi monia pareja, mut vaan yhet pääty lopulta mukaan: aika simppelit, kiiltävät mustat tennarit.

Satuin bongaamaan kuoharilasit, jotka on samaa sarjaa kuin aiemmin ostamani viinilasit. Miulla ei oikeita kuoharilaseja vielä ollukaan, joten olihan ne ostettava. Lisäks tollanen vanha sokerikippo toi niin vahvasti mieleen Luihuisen, että sekin oli pakko ostaa.

Viimeisenä muttei suinkaan vähäisimpänä esittelen mustan ja kiiltävän pingviinipariskunnan, jota oli muuten aika tuskaisaa yrittää valokuvata, kun kaikki valot heijastuu noista tolleen. Näitä ei voinu ohittaa. ♥ Toisen näistä aattelin antaa toiselle puoliskolleni, jos ton parin nyt raaskii erottaa.

Semmosta. Tänään meinasin pitää rennon kotipäivän, ja illalla aattelin palkita itseni tän kevään ja alkukesän akateemisesta ahkeroinnista punaviinillä ja ehkä jollain hyvällä (veripitoisella) elokuvalla. Nauttikaahan tekin viikonlopusta!

On Thursday I went for a flea market round in Joensuu, and I managed to find all kinds of great stuff there. Here are the best bits of my finds; I found taking photos of some smaller things quite unnecessary.

Let's start with two dresses that both are maybe a bit surprising choices for me, since neither of them is black. Somehow they just please me, and that red dress could even be great for the Midsummer.

Then some not-so-surprising clothing finds: two black ruffled skirts. My favourite kind of skirts. The upper one need some modification, though, since its waist part is a bit too high.

A shoeholist also finds something every time. I tried many pairs on, but only one ended up coming home with me: a pair of pretty simple, shiny black sneakers.

I happened to spot a set of glasses for sparkling wine that are similar to the wine glasses I bought earlier. I didn't even have real sparkling wine glasses before, so of course I bought them. Then there was this old sugar bowl that reminded me so strongly of Slytherin that I had to buy it.

Last but not least, I present to you a black and shiny penguin couple that was quite painful to photo since all the light reflects off it like that. I couldn't pass them. ♥ I thought to give one of these for my significant other, if we dare to separete the couple.

Today I'm going to just stay home and relax, and in the evening I'm going to reward myself for my hard academic working this spring and early summer with red wine and maybe a good (blood rich) movie. I hope you'll enjoy your weekend too!

Animecon 2013

No niin, nyt on selvitty Animeconista ja kotiuduttu takaisin Joensuuhun, joka taas alkaa pikkuhiljaa selvitä Ilosaarirockista. Oli ihan kiva viikonloppu, ja Kuopiossa on aina ilo käydä.

Bongasin muutaman bloggaajankin paikan päällä, mutta ujous iski, enkä uskaltanut mennä juttelemaan heille. :< Sunnuntaina tapasin kuitenkin Capitaine Inan goottibloggaajamiitin merkeissä. Miittihän sit loppujen lopuksi koostui vain meistä kahdesta muiden kiinnostuneiden jättäessä syystä tai toisesta tulematta. :p Mutta ihan mukavaa oli kyllä kahdestaankin, ja oli erittäin kivaa tavata Ina kasvotusten. ^_^

Ihmiset olivat taas panostaneet cosplayasuihinsa. Niistä ette saa valitettavasti kuvia, koska miulla ei ollut edes omaa kameraa mukana, koska liikuin pikkusiskoni ja tämä järjestelmäkameran kanssa, enkä kyllä muutenkaan tunnistanut puoliakaan cossatuista hahmoista. :D Hienoja asuja oli kyllä silti. Cossikuvien sijasta saatte nauttii omista asukuvistani, jeij.

Lauantaina olin mustavalkoinen ja raidallinen. Jotenkin ilmeeni oli typerä jokaisessa ton päivän kuvassa, mut tässä nyt pari siedettävintä. :D

Sunnuntaina taas olin hieman mustempi, ja asua hallitsi hämähäkinseittipitsi. Näissä kuvissa näätte myös uudet niittiballerinani, jotka ostin viikonloppuna.

Olin ihan hämmentynyt, kun ihmiset halus kuvata minuukin, vaikken ollu ees pukeutunu cossiin vaan vain omiin vaatteisiini. Hivenen hämmentävä oli myös eräs setä, joka lauantai-iltana pyöräili miun ja siskoni ohitse ja höpisi jotain: "En oo pedofiili, mutta näytätte kyllä aika hyviltä. Ajelen tässä vaan, en oo mikään pedofiili." Eihän siinä mitään. Taidetaan molemmat olla vähä turhan vanhoja pedofiileille, mut joo, kehuhan toi kai oli. :D

Viikonlopun aikana tuli osteltua vähän muutakin kuin noi kympin ballerinat Skopunktenista. Cybershopista mukaan tarttu pitsikengännauhat ja uudet mustavalkoraidalliset sukkikset. (Entiset alkaa olla hajalla.) Seuraavaks esittelen ite conialueella tehtyjä ostoksia.

Luihuismuki! ♥ Oon kuolannu tollasta tosi pitkään eri nettikaupoissa, ja sit Animeconissa oli kiva parrakas brittiherra myymässä mm. tällasta tavaraa. Nappasin ainokaisen mukin heti mukaani. Miusta on muuten erittäin nautinnollista sanoo sana "Slytherin", mille ei arjessa valitettavasti tuu hirveesti mahdollisuuksia. Nyt tuli, hähää.

Batman-hame löyty Backstreetin pöydästä, ja ihastuin tohon heti. Mitään keltasta miulla ei oo kyllä ollu vaatekaapissani varmaan koskaan, jotenkin oon penskasta asti vältelly sitä, mut ehkä se tossa nyt menee. Ostin Seppälästä keltasen kynsilakankin ihan ton hameen kanssa käytettäväksi.

Backstreetillä oli myös pieniä mustia ristikoruja. Siisti "Sith happens" -pinssi oli toisesta pöydästä, ja sen lisäks ostin myös pinssin tekstillä "I'm silently orrecting your grammar", joka sopi miulle kuin nenä päähän mutta jonka onnistuin hävittämään sunnuntain aikana. :< Kiinnitin noi molemmat pinssit laukkuun saman tien, ja sunnuntai-iltana tultuani takas kotiin huomasin kielioppinatsimerkin kadonneen. Höh.

Jouduin ostamaan myös uuden viuhkan, koska edellinen sattui hajoamaan käsiin just viikonloppuna. Se olikin kyllä palvellut minuu uskollisesti jo monta vuotta. Aattelin sit, että mieluummin maksan vähän enemmän jostain hienosta viuhkasta kuin otan halvimman vastaantulevan, ja valitsin sit tän upeen Henkien kätkemä -viuhkan, jossa on söpöjä pikku nokipalleroita ja oma suosikkini Kasvoton. ♥ Oon kyllä miettinyt jo vuosikausia, että Kasvotonta ois siisti cossata, mut siinä on vähän se ongelma, että suurin osa coneista on kuitenkin kesällä, ja tommonen musta kaapu lienee hivenen epämukava kuumassa auringonpaisteessa. Mut ehkä vielä joskus toteutan tonkin ajatuksen.

Katselin himoiten myös kaikkia ylisöpöjä ja ylihinnoiteltuja pehmoleluja. Oli kissoja ja totoroita ja näitä ihania alpakoita:

Tommonen iso alpakka makso viiskymppii, mut siitä huolimatta ne tuntu menevän hyvin kaupaksi, koska joka toinen vastaantulija conissa kantoi tommosta kainalossaan. Miekin oisin halunnu, mut en kyllä ihan niin paljoo ois ollu valmis tosta maksamaan.

Semmonen viikonloppu. Nyt ootan jo malttamattomana seuraavaa, jollon miusta tulee taas kokonainen ja elämästäni paljon onnellisempi, kun saan kumppanini takaisin maailmanvalloitusreissultaan. ♥ Tää alkuviikko meneekin varmaan sit siihen, että yritän muuntaa tän kahden kuukauden aikana sinkkukämpäksi muuttuneen kotini taas viihtyisäksi lemmenluolaksi. (Tykkään nimittäin elää yksinäni pienoisen sekasorron keskellä, mutta sitä sekasortoo en kuitenkaan haluu muitten näkevän.)

So, I've came out of the Animecon and returned home in Joensuu that, in turn, starts to sober up of Ilosaarirock. The weekend was pretty much fun, and it's always a pleasure to visit Kuopio.

I spotted some familiar bloggers there, but then shyness took over and I didn't have courage to go and talk to them. :< But on Sunday I met Capitaine Ina in a goth blogger meet-up. Eventually the meet-up consisted of just the two of us as the others didn't attend, for one reason or another. :p But we had a great time tête-à-tête, and it was nice to meet Ina face to face. ^_^

People had again devoted to their cosplay costumes. Unfortunately you won't get photos of them, because I didn't even have my camera with me, because I was with my little sister and her systems camera, and I didn't even know half of the characters. :D There were great costumes anyway. Instead of cosplay photos, you'll get to enjoy my outfit photos, yay.

On Saturday I was being black-and-white and striped. Somehow my expression was pretty stupid in all that day's pictures, but there are couple of most bearable photos. :D On Sunday I was a bit blacker, and spiderweb lace dominated the outfit. On those pictures you can also see my new studded shoes that I bought on weekend.

I was so disconcerted, when people wanted to take pictures of me too, though I wasn't even cosplaying but just wearing my own clothes. Pretty disconcerting was also this chap that cycled by me and my sister on Saturday evening and chattered: "I'm not a pedophile, bu you look pretty good. I'm just cycling, I'm not a pedophile." Well that's fine. We both are a bit too old for a pedophile, but I guess that was a compliment after all. :D

During the weekend I happened  to buy some other things too than just those Skopunkten ballerinas that cost ten euros. I bought lacy shoelace and new black-and-white striped tights in Cybershop. (The former ones start to be in holes.) Next I'll show some purchases made in the con area.

A Slytherin mug! ♥ I've drooled over that for years in web stores, and then there was this nice bearded Brit guy selling that kind of stuff in Animecon. There was only one mug, and I grabbed it right away. By the way, I find saying the word Slytherin very enjoyable, but unfortunately there aren't that any chances to say it weekdays (because it's more natural to use the Finnish words while speaking Finnish). But now there was, yay.

I spotted the Batman skirt in Backstreet's table, and I fell for it immediately. I guess I haven't ever had anything yellow in my wardrobe, because somehow I've always avoided that colour, but maybe I can tolerate it in that skirt. I even bought a yellow nail polish to wear with it.

Backstreet has also little black cross necklaces. The cool "Sith happens" badge was from another table where I bought also a badge with text "I'm silently correcting your grammar" that suited me so good but unfortunately I managed to lose it during Sunday. :< I attached the both badges to my bag right after buying them, and after coming back home on Sunday evening I noticed that the grammar nazi badge had disappeared. 

I had to buy a new fan, because the former one happened to come apart in my hands just during the  weekend. It had served me faithfully for many years already. I thought that I would rather pay more for a fancier fan than take the cheapest one, and I chose a gorgeous Spirited Away fan with cute little soot balls and No-Face, my favourite. ♥ I've been thinking for years already that it would be cool to cosplay No-Face, but there's a problem, because most of the cons are on summertime, and that black robe must be pretty uncomfortable in the scorching sun. But maybe I'll actualize that thought someday.

I was also grasping for all the over-cute and overpriced plush toys. There were cats and totoros and lovely alpacas. A big alpaca cost 50 euros, but, in spite of the price, they seemed to sell very well, because every other con-visitor carried an alpaca under their arm. I would've wanted too, but I wasn't ready to pay that much.

So, that's how my weekend was like. Now I'm waiting impatiently for the next one when I'll be whole again and my life will be much happier, when I get my partner back home from his world conquer trip. ♥ I'll spend the beginning of the week trying to turn my little home back to a cosy love nest, because during this two months it has started to resemble a bachelor apartment. (While living alone, I like to live in the middle of a bit of a chaos, but I wouldn't ever let anybody else to see that chaos.)

Potterinsa lukenut tietää, miten paljo toi yks ainoo sana merkitsee. Miten pieni sydän sykähtikään, kun aamulla postiluukusta tipahti punainen kirjekuori tutulla käsialalla. Miten silmät kostuivatkaan, kun kuoren sisältä paljastui tällaista.

Ihana rakkaani oli sitten päättänyt lähettää Briteistä jotain. Oisin osannut odottaa korkeintaan paikallisia maisemia esittelevää postikorttia. "Ajattelin, että saattaisit pitää niistä." Jäi kyllä aamukahvi kesken ja kylmenemään, kun menin niin tolaltani ton pienen paketin takia.

Jotkut varmasti tietääkin, miten tärkeitä Potter-kirjat miulle on. Oon viettäny puolet elämästäni niiden parissa ja kasvanu niitten parissa ja niihin kiinni. Ne on auttaneet minuu vaikeina aikoina, ja muutenkin ne vaan on tosi iso osa minuu. Ja joo, oon henkeen ja vereen Luihuinen, Snape on miun lempihahmo ja sen riipaisevan rakkaustarinan lukeminen saa miut aina nyyhkimään, edelleen, vaikka oon lukenu senkin kirjan jo monta kertaa ja tiiän mitä oottaa.

Joten kyllä, saatan ehkä pitää noista käsintehdyistä upeista koruista, jotka on romanttisinta, mitä oon koskaan saanut. Koko paketti kortteineen päivineen on niin täydellinen.

Päivän asukin (josta ei kylläkään oo kokokuvaa, trololol) rakentui sit kokonaan noiden korujen ympärille. Jotain mustaa ja melko yksinkertaista, että korut oisivat se "juttu" ja huomionkiinnittäjä. Luihuisen kunniaksi silmämeikkikin oli tummanvihree.

Mitä muuta tässä enää voi sanoo. Tää on vähintäänkin yks parhaista lahjoista, jonka oon koskaan saanu, ja tällä on tosi suuri merkitys miulle. Kiitos. ♥

If you have read your Potters, you know how much that one little word means. Oh how my little heart beat when I received a red envelope with familiar handwriting this morning. And how my eyes moistened when I opened the envelope.

My beloved had decided to send me something from Britain. I expected a post card with local scenery, at most. "I thought you might like these." I got so shaken up because of that little packet that I left my morning coffee unfinished.

Some may know how important the Potter books are to me. I've spend half of my life with them and grown with them and into them. They have helped me during hard times, and they just are so big part of me. And yeah, I'm a Slytherin root and branch, Snape is my favourite character and reading that heart-rendering love story always makes me weep, still, though I've read that book many times already and I know what's gonna happen. 

So yes, I might like those gorgeous hand-made jewellery that is the most romantic thing I've ever got.  The whole packet with card and everything was so perfect.

Today's outfit (of which I don't even have a full length photo trololol) was build around those jewellery. Something black and pretty simple, so that the jewellery would be the "thing" and attention capturer. To Slytherin's credit, the eye make-up was dark green.

What else could I say. This is, at least, one of the best gifts I've ever got, and this means so much to me. Thank you. ♥
