Oon viettäny tän viikonlopun enimmäkseen ompelukoneen ääressä paikkaillen ja korjaillen sitä odotelleita vaatteita. Jotkin vaatekappaleet oottaa myös tuunausta, ja tänään vähä alottelin sitä parin bändipaidan kanssa. Ne sai kylläkin kyytiä pelkillä saksilla, eli ompelukone sai levätä välillä. Tältä paidat näytti ennen käsittelyä:
Molemmat on ostettu käytettyinä just tuunaustarkoitukseen. Toi Skinny Puppyn paita oli jo kovin käytetty, haalistunu ja kovettunu pesusta, mut ihan hyvän siitä sai vielä vähä saksimalla. Tältä paidat näyttää sit leikkelyn jälkeen:
Elikkäs paidoista lähti irti hihat, helmat lyheni ja kaula-aukot avartui. Olkasaumat leikkasin auki ja solmin olkaimet toisiinsa kiinni. Helppoa ja nopeeta, ja nyt molempia on mukavampi käyttää. :)
I've been spending this weekend mostly with my sewing machine by patching up and fixing clothes in need of that. Some pieces are also in need of some modifying, and today I started doing that with a couple of band shirts. I worked them only with scissors, however, so the sewing machine got some rest. That's how the shirts looked like before using the scissors.
I've bought both shirts second hand for just modifying. The Skinny Puppy shirt was quite used already, the fabric colour had faded and the fabric had hardened due washing, but it still turned out pretty good with some scissoring. That's how the shirts look like after using the scissors.
So, I cut off the sleeves, the hems got shortened and the necklines got wider. I cut open the shoulder seams and tied the shoulder straps together with knots. It was easy and fast, and now both shirts are ready to be used. :)
