Christmas makeup & cake

Kävin viime viikolla ostelemassa H&M:ltä joitain juttuja jouluu varten, ja samalla tuli ostettuu vähän meikkejäkin, jotka pääsi tositoimiin lauantaina, kun juhlittiin armaani kanssa yhessä jouluu (ennen kuin kumpikin lähettiin jouluks entisille kotipaikkakunnillemme vanhempien luo).

Meikkaamisen jälkeen vaihoin päälle jotain pientä ja nättiä, josta en sattuneesta syystä ottanu kuvaa. ;) Mut tossa näkyy nyt meikki jotenkuten.

Meiän juhlailtaan kuulu mm. yhteistä kokkailua. Minttusuklaajuustokakku oli tehty jääkaappiin hyytymään jo aiemmin, ja sit syötiin sitä jälkiruoaksi. Reunat ei irronnu kakkuvuoasta hirveen nätisti, vaan ne jäi vähä rosoisiksi, mut oli oikein maukasta kuitenkin. :)

Last week I was shopping some Christmas things at H&M, and I bought also some makeup that I used then on Saturday, when me and my beloved were celebrating Christmas together (before leaving to spend the Christmas with our parents in our former home towns).

After putting on the makeup, I changed into something small and pretty, and for reasons I didn't feel like taking a photo of that outfit. ;) But in that one you can somehow see the makeup.

On our celebration night, we cooked together, among other things. We had made a mint chocolate cheesecake earlier, and it was our dessert. The sides of the cake didn't come off the tin that prettily, and they were a bit rough, but it was delicious nevertheless. :)

The words on the cake mean "Merry Christmas" in Finnish. I wish you readers a merry Christmas, too! ♥

At a birthday party

Eilisilta tuli vietettyä kaverin synttäreillä. En ollukaan aiemmin käyny kyseisen herran luona. Iso osa illasta meni kylläkin ihaillessa juhlien isännän levyhyllyä, josta löysin yllätyksekseni monta lempparibändiäni. Oma levykokoelmani on harmillisen niukka, ja tuolta olisi löytynyt montakin omistamisen arvoista albumia.

Ostettiin synttärisankarille isommalla porukalla kimppalahja, ja miun tehtävänä oli sit askarrella kortti. Kuva siitä on jouduttu ottamaan sisävalossa, mutta jospa siitä jotain selvää saa.

Tein lisäks viemisiks (vegaanisia ja gluteenittomia) mokkapaloja (tai oikeestaan mokkaisia suklaapaloja), joista ei kylläkään oo kuvaa, koska miulla meinas tulla vähä kiire niitten kanssa. Vissiin niistä tuli ihan onnistuneita, koska kaikki syötiin illan aikana. :)

Samasta syystä ei oo myöskään kuvaa illan asustani, mutta naaman aattelin tallentaa kameralle pikaisesti ennen lähtöö juhliin. Huono valaistus on valitettavasti tässäkin.

Oli kyllä kiva ilta. Mut nyt oon lusmuillu tarpeeks, ja pitää siirtyy koulupuuhien pariin. Tää viikko on ollu aikamoista rentoilua, kun ei oo ollu mitään kiireellistä tehtävää tai palautettavaa, mut ens viikolla jatkuu taas normaali arki.

Yesterday evening I spent at the birthday party of a friend of mine. I hadn't been to his place before. I just kept admiring the host's CD shelf where, to my surprise, I found many of my favourite bands. My own collection is regrettably slim, and there would've been many albums worth owning.

Me and some other guests bought a shared present for the birthday man, and I was given the task of making a card. I had to tahe the photo of it in indoor lighting, but maybe you can make something out of it.

I baked also (vegan and gluten-free) chocolate mocha cakes, but I don't have a photo of them since I got a bit of a rush with them. Apparently they turned out quite well, because people ate them all during the evening. :)

For the same reason (rush) I don't have a photo of my evening outfit, but I thought to save my face on camera quickly before leaving for the party. Unfortunately the lighting sucks in this one, too.

I had a fun night. But now I've been lazing around long enough, and I have to start doing some school stuff. This week has been quite laid back, because I hadn't have anything urgent to do or submit, but next week is a return to normal.

Revolutionary

En tiiä, sattuko kukaan teistä tietämään tai peräti osallistumaan, mut perjantaina oli semmonen pieni tempaus naisten sydän- ja hengitysterveyden puolesta. Tempaus oli nimeltään Huulipunavallankumous, ja ideana oli yksinkertaisesti käyttää punasta huulipunaa sen päivän ajan. Käytän "räväkämpiä" huulipunia nykyään ihan liian harvoin, joten olin ilonen, että oli jokin ees jossain määrin kunnollinen syy harrastaa moista. :D

Punasen huulipunan seuraks hakeutu tietysti myös punasävyinen paita. The Unseenin bändipaita toi mukavaa punk-henkeä melko naiselliseen meikkiin. En oo tainnu muuten aiemmin esitellä tota vetoketjukaulakoruu, jonka ostin tossa taannoin Seppälän alennusmyynneistä.

Aika simppeli mut kiva silti. Vetoketjut, napit ja muut ompeluun liittyvät asiat on lähellä käsityöihmisen sydäntä. :) Mut niin, Seppälästä puheen ollen, eksyin sinne sit perjantainakin, kun siellä oli kaikki normaalihintaiset tuotteet alennuksessa, woo. Oon ettiny tässä keväällä jo jonkin aikaa jotain kivoja, ohuita kesähousuja, mut oon vähä hankalan muotonen ja enkä oikein meinaa löytää hyvin istuvia housuja. Välillä aina yritän ettii, kuten nyt, mut eipä taaskaan löytyny. Sen sijaan löyty jotain kosmetiikkajuttuja sekä vallan mainio pikku hattu.

Hattu piti iskee päähän heti, ja se pääsi osaks myös seuraavan päivän asua. Menee kyllä varmaan hetki, että osaan alkaa käyttää taas pitkästä aikaa hattua muuten vain; teinigoottivuosinani käytin silinteriä joka paikassa, mutta sen jälkeen oon käyttäny hattuu vain tarvittaessa. Näytän muuten hämmentävän meikittömältä näissä kuvissa, mut uskokaa tai älkää, olin kyllä meikannu. :D Toi alempi kuva on vähä epätarkka, mut siitä tuli jotenkin kiva semmosella utuisella, haaveellisella tavalla, ja lisäks siinä näkyy toi hatun muoto vähä paremmin.

Alotin tän postauksen kirjottamista jo lauantaina, mut sit toisella paikkakunnalla kesätöissä oleva armaani tuli viettämään paria vapaapäiväänsä tänne, joten kirjottaminen sit vähä jäi. Samalla tuli muuten myös kesä ainakin tänne itäiseen kolkkaan Suomea. Eilen oli yli 20 astetta lämmintä ja tänään vissiin 30. Hirvittävää. Vihaan kuumuutta. Onneks miun kämppä pysyy aika viileenä helteilläkin, mut välillä on pakko poistuu siitä lempeästä viileydestä. :/

Älkää tekään paahtuko.

I don't know if any of you know about it, but at least here in Finland was on Friday this thing called Huulipunavallankumous, "Lipstick revolution". It was for women's heart and lung health, and the idea was simply wear red lipstick on that day. Since nowadays I wear far too rarely more "lurid" lipsticks, I was happy to have some kind of reason to do that. :D

Naturlly I chose a red-shaded shirt with the red lipstick. The band shirt of The Unseen gave a nicely punkish feeling for pretty feminine make-up look. I guess I haven't shown that zipper necklace before. I bought it on sale from Seppälä the other day.

It's quite simple but still cool. Zippers, buttons and other things connected to sewing are close to the heart of a craftsperson. :) But speaking of Seppälä, I went there on Friday too, because all normal-priced things were on sale, woo. I've been looking for some cool, sheer summer pants, but I guess I'm a bit difficultly shaped, because usually I don't find any pants that both look and feel good. From time to time I try my best, but I wasn't lucky this time either. Instead I found some cosmetics and quite an excellent little hat.

I had to put it on immediately after buying, and it became a part of the next day's outfit too. It might, though, take a while to learn to wear a hat "for no reason" again; during my teen goth days, I used to wear a top hat everywhere, but after that I've been using a hat only when needed. By the way, I look confusingly make-upless in those bottom two photos, but believe it or not, I had some make-up on. :D And the bottom photo is a bit fuzzy, but anyway I find it quite nice in a hazy, dreamy way. Also you can see the shape of the hat better in that one.

I started writing this post already on Saturday, but then my beloved one that has a summer job in a different area came here to spend his two days off, so I had something better to do than write. At the same time the summer came too, at least in here eastern part of Finland. Yesterday was over 20 Celsius degrees and today has been like 30. Horrible. I hate the heat. I'm happy my apartment is pretty cool even during the heat, but I can't stay inside all the time. :/

I hope you won't roast, in case you're suffering from heat too.

Heading home for weekend

Joensuussa alko eilen sateenkaariviikko Hohto, mut mie pakkasin läppärin ja muut tarpeelliset roinat laukkuun ja lähin kotiseutua kohti äitienpäiväviikonlopun viettoon. Koska en oo tainnu esitellä tätä upeeta Darth Vader -toppii teille päälläni, niin saatte nyt eilisen asukuvan, johon toppi olennaisesti kuului.

Vader kaipais kyllä vähän rakkautta elämäänsä, joten ihan hyvä, että se on saanut suukon joltakulta. Käytän ton topin kanssa yleensä punasta huulimeikkiä merkkinä siitä, että voisin itekin pussata sen kiiltelevää kypärää. ;>

Tai no en tiiä, varmaan se kypärä maistuis ihan joltain kypäränkiillotusvahalta, eikä Vader välttämättä muutenkaan arvostais tällaista. En ehkä haluis tulla kuristetuksi Voimalla. Mut ehkä se ois sen arvoista?

The rainbow week Hohto started yesterday in Joensuu, but I packed my laptop and other necessary stuff in my bag and headed home for the Mother's Day weekend. Since I apparently haven't shown this gorgeous Darth Vader top in action, I give you now the photo of the yesterday's outfit, where the top played an essential part.

Vader would really need some love in his life, so I think it's great, that he's got a kiss from somebody. With that top I usually wear also red lip make-up, indicating that I could too kiss that shiny helmet. ;>

Or, hmm, I don't know. Maybe the helmet tastes like helmet wax or something, and maybe Vader wouldn't approve that kind of gesture. I might not want to be strangled with the Force. But maybe it would be worth it?

Anyways, I hope you all have a nice weekend. On Sunday I will show you how my Mother's Day craftings did turn out. :)

These flowers will never die

Ystävälläni oli perjantaina synttärijuhlat, jonne valitsin päälleni mustan pitsimekon, uudet lahjaksi saamani korut sekä ruusupannan. Meikki oli kovin ruskea, vaikka luomivärin sävy ei oikein kuvasta näykään; huulipuna on sävyä "chocolate". (Valitettavasti se ei maistu kuitenkaan suklaalta. :<)

Eräs juhlavieraista sanoi, että näytän ihan kukkaisprinsessalta. :D Itelle tulee kukkaisprinsessasta ehkä vähän jotain muuta mieleen, mut eihän siinä. Käytän tota pantaa kyllä ihan liian harvoin. Oon omistanu sen melkein vuoden, eikä se oo päässy päähän kuin muutaman kerran.

May the 4th oli ja meni, ja tarkotuksena oli tosiaan tehä mustaa kakkuu uudessa Vader-vuoassani, mut se ei ihan onnistunu, koska vuoan hankalan muodon vuoksi kakun reunat kärähti ja keskus jäi raa'aksi. :< Ei tullu siis teemaan sopiviaa syötävää, mut päivää juhlistettiin vanhojen Star Wars -leffojen (ja drinkkien) muodossa.

Tässä alkuviikosta oon palannu erään roikkuneen koulutyöni pariin sekä hivenen askarrellu äitienpäivää varten. Kortti on vielä työn alla, mut lahja alkaa olla valmiina. :)

A friend of mine was throwing a birthday party on Friday, and I chose to wear a black lacy dress, my new gift jewellery and a rose head band there. My make-up was quite brown, though the eye shadow shade isn't that visible in the photo; the lipstick shade is "chocolate". (Unfortunately it doesn't taste like chocolate. :<)

One of the guests told me I looked like a flower princess. :D When I think of a flower princess, I think of something quite different, but oh well. I wear that hair band far too rarely. I bought it almost a year ago, but I've worn it only a few times.

May the 4th was on Sunday, and I was supposed to bake a black cake in my new Vader mould, but it didn't quite work out, because, due to the tricky shape of the mould, the sides of the cake were scorched and the centre was left uncooked. :< So didn't have Star Wars themed stuff to eat, but we celebrated the day by watching the old movies (and by making drinks).

On this week I've got back to a school work that's been kinda just waiting to be done, and I've also done some crafting for Mother's Day (that's on this Sunday in Finland). The card is still in the making, but the gift is starting to be ready. :)

Like a kiss away from your lips of blood

Todiste siitä, että välillä meikkaankin ihan nätisti (ja että osaan sensuroida tissivakoja vieläkin nätimmin):

Tollanen naama oli perjantaina, kun katselin kauhuleffoja. Käytin pitkästä aikaa Manic Panicin Vampire Red -sävyistä huulipunaani, joka oli taannoin teinigoottivuosien lemppari. Saatoin vähä inspiroituu verestä ja vampyyreista, joita valkokankaalla oli tarkoitus näkyä.

Punaisuus toistui myös hameessa. Valitettavasti oli jo aika pimee, eikä kokoasukuvan ottaminen oikein onnistunu. Elokuvissa ois ollu vähä parantamisen varaa, mut kyllähän kauhuu on aina mukava päästä kattomaan elokuvateatteriin. On se kuitenkin aika harvinaista herkkuu.

No niin, nyt oon laiskotellu jo tarpeeks. Pitää palata takas ahkeroinnin pariin ja tutkailla mm. tällasia asioita:

Teitä ei varmaankaan kiinnosta, mut miusta noin on ihan kivoja juttuja. :> Tänään pitää palauttaa erään kurssin lopputyö, johon noi juurikin liittyy. Ei oo onneks enää hirveesti jäljellä. Moimoi!

There's a proof that sometimes I actually have some nice make-up (and that I can censor cleavage pretty nicely too). That's how my face looked on Friday when I was off to watch some horror movies in cinema. I haven't been using the Vampire Red shaded lipstick by Manic Panic for a while, though it was my favourite back in my teenage goth days. I might got a bit inspired by blood and vampires I was ecxpecting to see on the screen.

My skirt had also some red in it. Unfortunately it was quite dark already, so taking a full outfit photo didn't really work out. I think the movies could've been a bit better, but anyway it's always nice to get to watch horror in cinema. It's quite rare.

Oh well, I've been idling for long enough already. I have to get back to school stuff and study for example imperative and interrogative structures. Maybe you don't care about things like that, but I consider them quite cool. :> I have to submit a written work today, and those things have to do with it. Luckily it's almost ready. Bye!

Some new cosmetics

I ordered some cosmetic products from Thebos web shop, and I received them on Friday.

That grapeseed oil was the main reason why I ordered stuff from the shop in the first place. I've been trying to grow my hair, and I'm getting a bit desperate, and I heard that grapeseed oil stimulates the growth of hair. It also can be used as a massage or body oil, so I thought it wouldn't be totally useless even if it didn't work on hair.

That's 5 Colours Eyeshadow (colour 05) by Saffron. I haven't tried the eyeshadows yet, but they look very nice. And the colour on the right isn't white but silver.

That's COLORsensational Lipstick by Maybelline, and the shade is Amethyst Ablaze. Unfortunately the colour doesn't look that violet on lips, but it's a beautiful colour anyway.

I know I promised to do a Christmas present post also, but I'm not very inspired to do that right now. :p I also have an exam tomorrow, so I should be studying for it. Well I didn't get that special gifts anyway: I got a smoothie blender, mugs, and some other stuff, I can't even remember everything at this moment, and I guess I could show some of my favourites (like my fabulous Empire Strikes Back mug) among some random posts.

Keskiviikkona sain todella hyviä uutisia: sain tietää saaneeni sivuaineoikeuden englannin kieleen ja kääntämiseen, mitä olen tavoitellut opintojeni alusta lähtien! Osallistuin nyt syksyllä sivuainekokeeseen kolmatta kertaa, ja olin jo melkein menettänyt toivoni koko asian suhteen, joten voi sitä onnen ja itkun määrää, kun sain kuulla tulleeni valituksi. Ja pitihän sitä vähän juhlistaa:

kuohuviinijuomaa & vasta- ja itseleivottuja Kinder-suklaamuffineja

Seuraavana päivänä eli torstaina olikin jo eka englantiin liittyvä juttu hoidettavana, nimittäin ääntämyskurssia edeltävä ääntämystesti, johon muuten harjoittelin lukemalla edellisenä iltana ääneen englanninkielisiä Pottereita sekä Lovecraftin novelleja. Äänitin puhettani ja kuuntelin, kuulostiko se ihan juntilta. :D En oo kuitenkaan käyttänyt englantii suullisesti kovinkaan paljon sit lukion jälkeen eli reiluun pariin vuoteen.

Pääaineenani yliopistossa on siis suomen kieli. Pitää nyt vähän katsella, miten saan kääntäjäopinnot yhdistettyy siihen, mut eiköhän tää tästä. Ens viikolla alkaa ekat englannin kurssit jee. ♥ (Alkaa ens viikolla kyllä muutkin kurssit mut en mie niistä oo yhtä innoissani.)

Torstaina ois ollut meikitön päivä, mut epäluonnonkauniina ihmisenä en siihen suostunut osallistumaan ja ostin vaan uusia meikkejä, joista pari voisin esitellä tässä. Oon jo pitemmän aikaa miettinyt meikinpohjustusvoiteen ostamista, koska ihoni alkaa nopeasti kiiltää meikin alla, eikä esimerkiksi luomiväri pysy kovin pitkään. Päädyin sitten L'Oréal Paris'n pohjustusvoiteeseen, jonka lupailtiin heleyttävän ja tasoittavan ihoa, tuovan samettisen ja matan lopputuloksen sekä soveltuvan myös huulten ja luomien pohjustamiseen.

Voide on hivenen moussemaista ja levittyy helposti iholle. Iho tuntuu pehmeältä ja tosiaankin samettiselta, mutta olisin toivonut voiteen pitävän meikin paremmin paikallaan. Luomiväri ei pysynyt yhtään aiempaa paremmin, eikä ihokaan pysynyt mattana kovin pitkään. Samettinen tuntu säilyi kyllä koko päivän.

Uusi ripsiväri on ollut myös hakusessa jonkin aikaa, koska en ole oikein pitänyt edellisestäni, Rimmelin Glam'eyes Mascarasta. No joo, Rimmel nyt muutenkin on mitä on, mutta tuo on kyllä jotenkin erityisen huono ripsiväri mielestäni. Kaikki ripset tarttuu yhteen ja muutenkin se on jotenkin tosi haalee ja ääh. Ostin sit Isadoran Precision Mascaran, lähinnä just sen takia, koska sen pitäisi pienen harjansa ansiosta erotella ripset erityistarkasti.

No. Ootin kyllä tältäkin tuotteelta vähän enemmän. Harja on pieni ja kätevä, mutta ei se kyllä mitenkään täydellisestä kuitenkaan ripsiä erottele, vaan edelleen ne takertuvat toisiinsa ja edelleen alaripset on aika hankala saada siististi värjättyä. On toi kuitenkin huomattavasti parempi kuin edellinen ripsivärini, ja sillä saa kyllä todella mustat ripset lisäämällä väriä useamman kerroksen.

Eli täydellinen meikinpohjustusvoide sekä ripsiväri ovat vielä hakusessa, mut ei noi turhia ostoksia olleet kuitenkaan. :) Mut nyt oon lusmuillut tarpeeksi ja siirryn lukemaan kirjatenttiin. Hyvää viikonlopun jatkoa!

Translation:

Wednesday I got some really good news: I heard I got a right to study English and Translation as a minor subject, which I've been trying to achieve since the beginning of my studies! This autumn I attended the minor subject test for the third time, and I had almost lost all hope of it, so I was extremely happy when I heard I got selected, I even cried of happiness. And of course it called for a little celebration. I had sparkling wine drink and freshly self-baked Kinder chocolate muffins.

Already on next day, Thursday, I had a first English-related thing, namely a pronunciation test for a pronunciation course. I practised for it by reading Potter books and Lovecraft's short stories aloud in English, and recorded my speech and listened to it, if it sounded stupid. :D I haven't really used English much orally after high school so for over two years.

I have Finnish (linguistics) as a major subject in university. I have to think how I can combine that and translator studies sensibly, but I'm sure things are going to be allright. My first English courses will star next week yay. ♥ (Well all the other courses will star as well, but I'm not so excited about them.)

Thursday was a "make-up-free day", but as a person of not natural beauty I didn't participate and I even bought some new make-up products I could show you now. I've been considering of buying a primer for quite a while, because my skin starts quickly shining under make-up and for example eye shadow won't stay on for long. So I bought a primer of L'Oréal Paris, and it was promised to brighten and smooth skin, bring a matt and velvet result and be auitable for priming also lids and lips.

The primer is mousse-like and easy to apply. Skin feels soft and indeed velvet, but I hoped it to keep the make-up better. Skin doesn't stay matt for very long, but the velvet feeling stayd for whole day.

I didn't really liked my previous mascara, Glam'eyes by Rimmel, so I was looking for a new mascara also. Well, Rimmel isn't very good anyway, but I thought that mascara was especially bad. It made lashes to cling together and it wasn't very black etc. So I bought a Precision Mascara by Isadora, because it was said to separate lashes carefully because of its small brush.

Well. I expected more of that product also. The brush is small and handy, but it certainly does not separate lashes perfectly, they still cling together and it's still difficult to color the lower lashes. Anyway it surely is better than my previous one, and you get really black lashes by adding it more.

So I haven't found yet a perfect primer or mascara, but those weren't useless purchases anyway. :) Now I have to start reading for a test. Have a nice weekend!
