Heips! Otin ja leikkautin tossa reilu viikko sit itelleni pitkästä aikaa otsiksen – ja kaduin päätöstä heti illalla hiustenpesun jälkeen. Etutukka ei sit meinannut asettua millään nätisti, eikä se asetu kyllä oikein vieläkään. Alla todistustaineistoa kahdelta kerralta, kun yritin laittaa sitä; alempi on tältä päivältä.

Muutenkin tukka näyttää ja tuntuu ihan hirveeltä nykyään. :D En tiiä, mikä neuvoksi. Ehkä pitäis vaan luovuttaa ja leikkauttaa se taas lyhyeksi... Lyhythiuksisena oli kaikki paremmin!

Yo! A bit over a week ago, I decided to get myself bangs after a while – and regretted the decision right in the evening after having washed my hair . The bangs didn't look so good anymore, and they still really don't. Here's some proof from two different times I tried to do it; the photo below is from today.

Nowadays my hair looks like and feels horrible otherwise too. :D I don't know what to do with it. Maybe I should just give up and cut it short again... Everything was better when I was short-haired!

Moikka pitkästä aikaa! Pahoittelen taas tätä blogini hiljaiseloa, joka kylläkin tulee varmasti vielä jatkumaan jonkin aikaa. Loppusuoralla olevat opinnot ja muutkin asiat elämässä aiheuttaa stressii tällä hetkellä aika reippaasti, eikä bloggaaminen oo hirveesti innostanu viime aikoina. Nyt on kuitenkin luvassa taas jotain pari kuvaa kameran uumenista.

Naamakuva on otettu melkein tarkalleen kuukausi sitten, kun testailin käytettynä  ostamaani lainerautaa ekan kerran. Hieno peiliasukuvan peilikuva on myös samoilta ajoilta. Poikaystävän ollessa kertausharjoituksissa toisella puolella maata lainasin mm. tämän laiskiaispaitaa. ♥

Viime aikoina oon askarrellu vähä jotain joulujuttuja sekä koristellu muutenkin vähä aiempia vuosia enemmän kotia joulun kunniaksi. Yritän vielä saada esiteltyä niitä ennen joulua. :) Ja huomenna tulee uus Star Wars, iiks! Ite oon kylläkin menossa kattomaan sen vasta perjantaina. Pitänee vältellä internetiä huomisillasta siihen asti, etten spoilaannu...

Hi all, after a while! Again I'm sorry about this quietness going on in my blog, though it will probably continue for still some time. I've been quite stressed out, thanks to my studies being on the home stretch and other things in my life. So I haven't had that much inspiration for blogging. But now you're going to get a couple of photos I found from the depths of my camera.

The face pic was taken almost exactly a month ago, when I was testing a waving iron I had bought  second hand. The fancy reversed photo taken through a mirror is from last month too. My boyfriend was on a military refresher course on the other side of the country, so I could borrow e.g. his sloth shirt. ♥

I've been crafting some Christmas stuff lately and decorating home more than usually on Christmases before. I intend to show them here before Christmas. :) And tomorrow is the premiere of the new Star Wars, yikes! I'm going to watch it just on Friday. I guess I have to avoid the Internet from tomorrow night to Friday night, so I won't come across any spoilers...

Still Alive

Jep, oon edelleen hengissä, vaikkei siltä ehkä blogin perusteella aina vaikutakaan. :D Gradu ja muut stressaavat asiat vie aikaa ja voimia, eikä elämässä hirveesti muuta tällä hetkellä tapahdukaan, joten hiljaiselo on aika lailla looginen seuraus. Mut yritän aina sillon tällön käydä näyttäytymässä täälläkin.

Tänään kävin hoitelemassa kaikkia tympeitä paperiasioita. Aattelin, että kukkamekko vois olla piristävä valinta moisiin askareisiin.

Tukka alkaa kyllä taas tympiä, sekä pituuden että etutukattomuuden osalta. Oon kasvatellu tota etutukkaa nyt jokusen tovin, eikä etuhaituvat vieläkään yllä korvien taakse. Haluisin leikkauttaa reilusti pituutta joka puolelta. Ehkä alotan siitä etutukasta, se virkistää ilmettä varmasti jo huomattavasti.

Pikkuisia kukkasia! Yleensä en oo mikään kukkakuosien suuri ystävä, mut tää kirpparilta aikoinaan bongattu mekko on ihan kiva kesävaate. Se päällä on hyvä istua sisällä tietokoneen näytön ääressä naputtelemassa gradua. :p No, onneks en oo mikään ulkoilmaihminen muutenkaan, etenkään kesäaikaan.

Yup, I'm still alive, though it may not always seem like it while looking at my blog. :D I've been busy with writing my master thesis and with all kinds of other stressful stuff, and there isn't much else going on in my life right now, so there isn't much going on in my blog either. But I try to show my face around here every now and then.

Today I had to take care of some dull paper work. I thought that a flower dress could be a cheery choice of clothing for such tasks.

Also my hair is starting to be dull. I'm getting irritated by both the length and the bangslessness. I've been letting my bangs grow for some time now, and still the hair in front isn't long enough to be tucked behind ears. I'd like to have my hair cut way shorter. Maybe I'll start with the bangs, it'll surely refresh the look considerably.

Little flowers! Usually I'm not a big fan of flower pattern, but that second hand dress is a nice summer wear. It's great for sitting indoors in front of a computer screen writing your master thesis. :p Well, luckily I'm not a real fan of the outdoors either, especially in summer time.

Three Days, Three Faces

Maanantaina testailin taas hiusten kihartamista, joskaan testailu ei ollu yhtä onnistunu kuin aiemmin. Kaipaan varmaan vaan harjotusta ton kihartimen käytön kanssa.

Ostin viime viikolla H&M:stä kivan pilkkukynsilakan, ja piti päästä testailemaan sitä. Se näytti aika hauskalta myös kynsissäkin, jotka olin just joutunu leikkaamaan. Tiistaina yritin näyttää edustavalta ja ottaa edustavan kuvan CV:hen, ja tossa nyt on paras tulos.

Eilen taas oli ihan rentoilupäivä, ja illalla vietin leffailtaa kaverin kanssa. Katottiin Frozen, joka miun on pitäny kattoo jo piiiitkään. En tajuu, miten oon onnistunu pitkittämään sen kattomista näin pitkään. Tykkäsin kyllä siitä, vaikkakin odotukseni sen suhteen oli ehkä turhan suuret.

En tiiä, onko tää nyt ilonen vai surullinen tarina, mut ostin ton hameen joskus ikiaikoja sitten, ja sillon se oli niin iso, että se hädin tuskin pysy päällä. Miun tarkotuksena oli pienentää sitä, mut en sit koskaan saanu sitä aikaseks. Nyt sit eilen kokeilin sitä taas pitkästä aikaa, ja maagisesti siitä oli tullu sopiva. :D Vissiin oon lihonu sit just sopivasti, ainakin ton hameen kannalta.

On Monday, I tried again to curl my hair, but it didn't turn out as nice as earlier. Well, I guess I just need practise with the curler.

Last week, I bought a cool dot nail polish at H&M, and I had to try it on. It looked pretty neat on the nails too, though I had had to cut them just earlier. On Tuesday, I was trying to look presentable and take a presentable photo for my CV, and that's the best shot.

Yesterday I was just chilling out, and in the evening I had a movie night with a friend of mine. We watched Frozen which I've been planning to watch for ages. I don't understand how I've managed not to watch it before. I did like it, though my expectations were maybe a bit too big.

I'm not sure if this is a happy or a sad story, but I bought that skirt ages ago, and then it was so big that it barely stayed on. I was supposed to make is smaller, but I never got it done. Yesterday I tried it on after a long time, and magically it was fitting. :D I guess I have gained just enough weight, at least for that skirt.

Embracing the Curls

Miun blogitekstejä lueskelleet tietänee, että miulla on luonnonkiharat hiukset, joitten kanssa oon saanu tuskailla kerran jos toisenkin. Vuosien ajan oon ratkaissu niitten ongelman hiustensuoristimella, mut nyt viime aikoina on pääkopassa pyöriny hurja ajatus kihartimen hankkimisesta. Oon kokeillu kihartamista suoristimella, mut siitä ei tullu semmosta mieluista lopputulosta. Ja viikonloppuna satuin sit bongaamaan tarjouksessa olevan kihartimen, jonka päivän miettimisen jälkeen sit kotiutin.

Nää kuvat on maanantailta, jollon kihartelin hiukseni ennen päivän luennolle lähtöö, ja olin kyllä niin mieltyny lopputulokseen, että kiharsin tukan myös eilen. Hassua, että vasta tässä iässä päätin alkaa hyödyntää kiharaista hiuslaatuani. Miulla ei kuitenkaan suoristetut hiukset pysy aina kovin pitkää suorina, mut kiharat kyllä kesti koko päivän. Ja tolla kihartimella sai just tommoset kivannäköset kiharat, jotka ei näytä liian teennäisiltä.

Kiharat onkin ollu tän alkuviikon jännin asia. Marilyn Mansonin uus albumi on aika jännä myös. Tänään meinaan lähtee uhmaamaan pakkasta (~25 °C) ja tarpomaan syntymäpäiväänsä viettävän kaverini luo. Ja ai niin: oon vähä aatellu, että 50 lukijan rajan ylittyessä voisin pitää jonkin pienen arvonnan, josta vois saada mahdollisesti jotain käsintehtyä tai muuta kivaa. 

If you've been reading my blog texts, then you probably know that I have naturally curly hair and that taming it can be quite agonizing. For years, I've solved the hair problem with a hair straightener, but recently I've been having this weirdest thought of getting a curling iron. I've tried curling my hair with a straightener, but I didn't really like the result. And last weekend I happened to spot a promising curling iron on sale, so after some consideration I brought it home.

The photos here are from Monday, when I curled my hair before going to the lecture of the day, and I was so pleased with the result that I curled my hair also yesterday. I think it's kind of funny that I decided to start taking advantage of my curly hair only at this age. My hair won't stay straight very long after straightening it, but the curls lasted for whole days. And I really like the curls you can make with that iron – they look cool and not too pompous.

The curls actually were the most exciting thing of this beginning of the week. The new album by Marilyn Manson is quite cool too. Today I'm going to brave the cold weather (~25 °C) and go to visit a friend of mine who's having his birthday today. And by the way, I've been thinking I could hold a giveaway when my blog reaches the 50 readers limit. I could giveaway e.g. something handmade or something else cool.

A Couple of Outfits & Hair Experiments

Aattelin jakaa parit asukuvat viime päiviltä ilman ihmeempiä höpinöitä. Eka on viime perjantailta, jollon menin kaverin luo pelailemaan videopelejä. Luvassa oli mm . Tokyo Junglea, joten päälle valikoitui ekaa kertaa uus norsupaita Ebaystä.

Etutukka alkaa olla vähä hankalan pitunen, ja yritän kasvatella sitäkin, joten on pitäny kehitellä jotain keinoja pitää se pois roikkumasta silmiltä. Perjantaina testailin pientä ranskanlettii siihen tarkotukseen.

Eilen alkokin sit taas luennot loman jälkeen. Pakkasta oli vajaa 20 astetta, joten lämmin neuletakki tuntu hyvältä idealta. Lisäks heittäydyin hurjaks ja laitoin tukan kahelle ponnarille. Tuli kyllä aika nostalginen olo, koska viimeks oon pystyny pitämään tukkaa tolleen lukion alkupuolella.

Oisin kyllä mieluusti vielä lomaillu, mut aika kivuttomasti nää pari ekaa arkipäivää on menny jo. Vähä vaan väsyttää.

Here's a couple of outfit photos from last few days without too much talk. The first one is from last Friday when I was heading to play some video games with a friend of mine. We were gonna play Tokyo Jungle, among other things, so I chose to wear for the first time a new elephant shirt from Ebay.

The length of my fringe is starting to be a bit difficult, and I'm trying to grow that too, so I've had to figure some ways to keep it from blocking my eyesight. On Friday, I tested a small French braid for that purpose.

My lectures started yesterday again after the holidays. It was quite cold outside, so a warm knit jacket seemed like a good idea. I also went a bit wild and wore my hair with two ponytails. I felt a bit nostalgic, since I haven't been able to wear my hair like that after the first half of upper secondary school.

I would have liked to holiday even more, but at least these first two schooldays went quite painlessly. I'm just feeling a bit tired.

White cats, black hair

Nyt ei oo kyllä mitään muuta asiaa kuin se, että halusin vaan näyttää päivän asun. Ja jep, oon taas mustatukkainen! Tuntuupa kotoisalta. Toi on kylläkin ihan vaan kevytväri, joka lisäks tarttu tosi epätasasesti, vaikka käytin kuitenkin kaks pakettii, mut noh, onhan tää silti huomattavasti tummempi.

Tänään oli vaan yks luento, mut sen lisäks oli kaikkee muuta hoidettavaa hommaa, ja oon aika väsyny ja nälkäinen. En oo kerinny syömäänkään aamupalan ja sen jälkeisen välipalan jälkeen mitään, mut onneks päivän eka kunnon ateria on just tässä samalla porisemassa.

This time I really don't have anything in my mind, I just wanted to show you the outfit of today. And yeah, I have black hair again! It feels so homely. It's only a conditioning colour, though, and it didn't spread very evenly, though I used two packages. Oh well, it still is clearly darker than it was.

Today I had only one lecture, but I had also lots of other errands to run, and now I'm feeling quite tired and hungry. I haven't had time to eat anything after breakfast and a snack, but fortunately the first real meal of the day is stewing at the moment.

Something new

Mie harvemmin hankin esim. vaatteita uutena, vaan hyödynnän pitkälti sekä netti- että konkreettisia kirppiksiä. Tän postauksen uusia juttujakaan en oo ite ostanu, vaan sain ne ikään kuin perhe-etuna, kun vanhempani ja pikkusiskoni kävivät kylässä perjantaina.

Sisko toi supersiistin tuliaisen taannoiselta Kuopion-reissultaan. Väri on ehkä vähän hankala pääasiassa pelkkää mustaa käyttävälle, mut toisaaltahan mustan kanssa pitäs käydä kaiken.

Okei, pitää ehkä selittää tota paitaa vähän, koska oletan sen olevan hämmentävä yllätys monelle lukijalle. :D Mut joo, Despicable Me -leffat on suuria suosikkejani, ja ihastuin heti niiden keltaisiin pikkumiehiin. En osaa oikein sanoo, mikä leffoissa ja minioneissa oikein viehättää, mut oon vaan hirvee minion-fani ja ootan jo innolla ens vuonna ilmestyvää minionien omaa elokuvaa. Tää on lähipiirissä ihan tunnettu asia, ja itse asiassa Despicable Me 2:n sainkin vuosipäivälahjaksi poikaystävältä. :D

Mut joo, en oo vielä päässy käyttämään tota paitaa ihmisten ilmoilla, mut vähä suunnittelin laittavani sen heti seuraavana koulupäivänä eli huomenna. En kyllä vielä oikein tiiä, minkä kanssa tota voi oikeesti yhistellä, mut jospa se siitä.

Seuraavaks onkin sit varmaan hyödyllisin juttu, jonka oon saanu aikoihin: jotakuinkin vedenpitävät kengät. Äiti ystävällisesti sponssas nää miulle perjantaina Seppälästä. Ja en tiiä, onko noi nyt oikeesti ihan kumppareihin verrattavissa, mut ainakin tänään loskassa talsiessani pysy kyllä jalat ihan kuivina, jee.

Tuli kyllä tarpeeseen näillä säillä. Tänne sato taas eilen lunta, ja nyt on tosi märkää. Eihän noi kengät ehkä mitkään maailman näteimmät ja siroimmat yksilöt oo, mut ainakin ne tuntuu tukevilta ja vedenpitäviltä. Tänään tosiaan ulkoilutin noita ekaa kertaa, kun kävin kampaajalla, ja itse asiassa tähän uusien asioiden listaan vois lisätä myös tukan, koska muutettiin vähä tätä mallia. Yritin ottaa kuvaa lopputuloksesta, mut se olikin yllättävän vaikeeta yksin ja ilman kunnollista jalustaa. Ei tää toki hirveen radikaalisti muuttunu, koska kasvatusprojekti on kuitenkin edelleen meneillään, mut takaa tukka lyheni vähän, ja nyt se silleen pitenee eteenpäin.

Enää reilu viikko halloweeniin, iiks. Tänään tipahtikin postiluukusta taas yks asuuni liittyvä juttu. :) Mukavaa viikkoo kaikille!

I rarely buy e.g. entirely new clothes, but I mainly utilize both net and concrete flea markets. And I haven't even bought these new things in this post myself, but I got them as if as a family benefit, when my parents and my little sister visited me on Friday.

My sister brought me a super cool shirt from her recently made trip to Kuopio. The colour is maybe a bit difficult for someone who wears almost only black, but then again, they do say that black goes with everything.

Okay, maybe I need to explain the shirt a bit, since I assume it's a confusing surprise for many readers. :D So, Despicable Me movies are big favourites of mine, and I immediately took to their yellow little men. I can't really explain what so fascinates me in the movies and the minions, but I just am a huge minion fan and I'm already waiting anxiously for next year's minion movie. My friend and family know about this, and actually I got Despicable Me 2 as an anniversary present from my boyfriend. :D

But yeah, I haven't yet got a chance to wear that shirt in public, but I thought to do it on my next shoolday that is tomorrow. I'm not quite sure yet what to wear with it, but maybe I'll figure out something.

Next thing is probably the most useful thing I've got in long time: more or less waterproof shoes. My mother was kind enough to sponsor them for me on Friday from Seppälä. And I don't know if they are really comparable to rubber boots, but at least today, while I was plodding in flush, my feet didn't get wet, yay.

The shoes really hit the spot in this weather. It snowed yesterday, and now it's wet everywhere. The shoes may not be the prettiest and the most delicate ones out there,  but at least they seem sturdy and waterproof. Today I wore them for the first time, as I went to the hairdresser's, and in fact I could add hairstyle in this list of new things, since we changed the style a bit. I tried to take a photo of the result, but it was quite a difficult thing to do alone and without a proper camera stand. My hair didn't change very radically, since I'm still in the middle of the growing project, but the hairdresser cut it a bit more on back, and now it's longer on the front sides.

Halloween is already on next week, yikes! Today I received yet another thing connected to my outfit. :) Have a nice week, everyone!

Otsikon sitaatti kuvaa täydellisesti omia tuntemuksiani lokakuusta. Oon tainnu kirjottaa tästä aiheesta aiemminkin, mut lokakuu on kyllä ehdoton suosikkikuukauteni ― eikä vähiten halloweenin takia. (Vaikka halloween onkin oikeestaan miulle enemmän mielentila kuin vain yks tietty päivä.)

Ihan kuin fiikuksenikin haluis juhlistaa tätä upeaa kuukautta, koska se puskee innokkaasti pikku kukkia. Sain ton kasvin tässä vähän aikaa sit äidiltäni, ja yritän nyt sitä hoitaa tässä niin hyvin, että se säilyis mahollisimman pitkään hengissä. :D En siis oo mikään luontainen viherpeukalo, ja tähän mennessä parhaiten oon pärjänny kaktusten kanssa, joista vanhin oli miulla yli kymmenen vuotta. Sit se vaan kuivu kasaan.

                               
Aattelin nyt vaihteen vuoks esitellä, mitä teen, kun en jaksa suoristaa hiuksia. Jos käyn vaikka vaan ruokakaupassa, niin en kyllä viiti alkaa käyttää tuntii hiusten laittamiseen. Nää on jo onneks niin pitkät, että voi laittaa tukan vaan poninhännälle ja tarvittaessa suoristaa sit etutukkaa. En kylläkään oo sitä mieltä, että poninhätä-look käy miulle, mut eiköhän se jotain kauppareissuu varten oo ihan riittävä. Ja nyt kun sää viilenee, niin voi myös vetästä vaan pipon päähän.



















Toi pipokuva on tältä päivältä ja toi eka kuva viime viikolta, ja pitää kyllä sanoo, että tänään tuli vähä turhan kuuma tossa pipossa. Ei oo vielä ihan pipokelit kuitenkaan.

Pitää myös mainita, että en tällä hetkellä oo enää noin meikitön, koska ideoin just meikkejä halloween-asuuni, jonka tärkeimmät osat hain postista just tänään. Kylppäri on ihan tekoveressä. :D Ei vitsi, oon ihan innoissani tästä asusta, enkä jaksais oottaa kolmee viikkoo, että pääsen käyttämään sitä ihmisten ilmoilla! Tiedossa on varmaan ainakin kahet bileet, joista toisten ajankohta on jo selvillä. En paljasta mitään ennen niitä. :p

PS. En yhtään tiiä, miks kuvien jälkeen näyttäs olevan noin isot välit.

The quote in the heading describes perfectly my thoughts about October. I think I've written about this before already, but  October is absolutely my favourite month ― and not least because of Halloween. (Though for me Halloween is more than just one day, it's a state of a mind.)

As if my ficus wanted to celebrate this glorious month too, since it's eagerly pushing out little flowers. My mother gave me that plant a little while ago, and I'm doing my best on trying to keep it alive as long as possible. :D So I don't have naturally green fingers, and so far I've been best with cactuses. I had my oldest cactus for over ten years, and then it just dried dead.

For a change, I wanted to show you what I do when I don't feel up to straightening my hair. I don't think it's necessary to spend an hour for doing my hair, when I'm going to go just to buy some food stuff, for example. Luckily my hair is already long enough to make a pony-tail, and then I straighten the fringe, if necessary. I don't really think the pony-tail look suits me, but it's good enough for the grocery shop. And now, when the weather is getting colder, I can also just wear a beanie.

The beanie photo is from today and the first photo is from last week, and I must say that today was a bit too warm day for wearing a beanie, so I guess I have to wait a bit more with that beanie look.

I also have to mention that I'm not that makeupless anymore, since I was just planning my Halloween make-up. I received just today the main parts of my costume. There is fake blood all over my bathroom. :D Yikes, I'm so excited about this costume, and it's killing me to wait three weeks before I'm able to wear this in parties! I'm attending at least two Halloween parties. I'm not going to reveal anything before them. :p

PS. I have no idea why it looks like there as so huge space after the photos.

Snow and skulls

Oho, edellisestä postauksesta on päivää vaille kuukausi aikaa. Pahoittelen tätä hetken hiljaiseloa. Jotenkin ei ole vain ollut mitään kirjoitettavaa, ja pari viikkoa sitten jatkuneet opinnotkin ovat tuoneet taas puuhaa arkeen. Nyt on kuitenkin luvassa pikkuinen postaus eilisen asusta.

Eilen aamulla kun avasin verhot ja katsoin ikkunasta ulos, näytti siellä tältä:

Eka ajatus oli vaan että "fuck this shit", koska vihaan tollasta märkää lunta ja räntäsadetta. Ja just viikonloppuna oli vielä melkein 20 astetta lämmintä, eikä syksykään ollu kunnolla kerinny vielä ees tulla, ja sit tulee jo lunta. No, tällä hetkellä pihalla näyttää kyllä jo paljo lumettomammalta ja sataa ihan vettä. Ehkä se oikee syksy tulis nyt seuraavaks.

Jotain valkosta teki mieli kuitenkin laittaa päivän asuunkin, ja päälle valikoitui pitkä pääkallopaita ja epäsymmetriset leggingsit, jotka molemmat on muuten viimeaikaisia kirppislöytöjä ja jotka olikin nyt ekaa kertaa päällä.

Tykkään huomattavasti enemmän sukkahousuista kuin leggingseistä noin yleensä, mutta kyllä kivan printin takia voi valita myös nuo naisten kalsarit. Pitkästä aikaa käytin myös mustaa luomivärii – ehkä sit jonain vastaiskuna rännälle.

Tukka vaan kasvaa. Vähä alkaa kyllä ärsyttää tää pituus sekä oma väri, mut en viittis hirveesti värjäillä hiuksia tälleen kasvatusvaiheessa. Jokin musta kevytväri nyt tietysti vois olla ihan hyvä vaihtoehto. Tekis kyllä mieli muuttaa tota malliikin. Jos teillä on jotain ideoita, niin kertokaa toki. :)

Nyt pitää palailla tenttikirjojen ja käännöstehtävien pariin. Mukavaa syyskuun jatkoa kaikille!

Oops, it's been almost a month since my last post. I'm sorry about that. I just haven't really had anything to write about, and my university studies continued a couple of weeks ago so I've been a bit busy with school stuff too. But here's a small post about yesterday's outfit.

As I opened curtains yesterday morning and looked outside, it was looking quite white and wet out there. My first thought was "fuck this shit", since I really hate wet snow and sleeting. And still last weekend it was almost 20 degrees (Celsius), and the autumn hadn't even really arrived yet, and it was already snowing. Well, now it looks much more snowless outside and it's raining. Perhaps the real autumn would come next.

Anyway I felt like putting on something white, and I chose to wear a long skull skirt and asymmetrical leggings, which both btw arequite recently made fleamarket finds and which I actually wore yesterday for the first time.

In general, I really prefer tights over leggings, but if the print is cool enough, I can wear those women's long johns. I also had black eye shadow – maybe as some counter for the sleet.

My hair just keeps growing. The length and my natural hair color are starting to annoy me though, but I wouldn't like to color my hair during this growing time. Or maybe some non-permanent black colourant would be a good option. I'd like to change the hairstyle model too. If you have some ideas, please share them. :)

Now I'll have to get back to my set books and translation assignments. Enjoy the last days of September!

These flowers will never die

Ystävälläni oli perjantaina synttärijuhlat, jonne valitsin päälleni mustan pitsimekon, uudet lahjaksi saamani korut sekä ruusupannan. Meikki oli kovin ruskea, vaikka luomivärin sävy ei oikein kuvasta näykään; huulipuna on sävyä "chocolate". (Valitettavasti se ei maistu kuitenkaan suklaalta. :<)

Eräs juhlavieraista sanoi, että näytän ihan kukkaisprinsessalta. :D Itelle tulee kukkaisprinsessasta ehkä vähän jotain muuta mieleen, mut eihän siinä. Käytän tota pantaa kyllä ihan liian harvoin. Oon omistanu sen melkein vuoden, eikä se oo päässy päähän kuin muutaman kerran.

May the 4th oli ja meni, ja tarkotuksena oli tosiaan tehä mustaa kakkuu uudessa Vader-vuoassani, mut se ei ihan onnistunu, koska vuoan hankalan muodon vuoksi kakun reunat kärähti ja keskus jäi raa'aksi. :< Ei tullu siis teemaan sopiviaa syötävää, mut päivää juhlistettiin vanhojen Star Wars -leffojen (ja drinkkien) muodossa.

Tässä alkuviikosta oon palannu erään roikkuneen koulutyöni pariin sekä hivenen askarrellu äitienpäivää varten. Kortti on vielä työn alla, mut lahja alkaa olla valmiina. :)

A friend of mine was throwing a birthday party on Friday, and I chose to wear a black lacy dress, my new gift jewellery and a rose head band there. My make-up was quite brown, though the eye shadow shade isn't that visible in the photo; the lipstick shade is "chocolate". (Unfortunately it doesn't taste like chocolate. :<)

One of the guests told me I looked like a flower princess. :D When I think of a flower princess, I think of something quite different, but oh well. I wear that hair band far too rarely. I bought it almost a year ago, but I've worn it only a few times.

May the 4th was on Sunday, and I was supposed to bake a black cake in my new Vader mould, but it didn't quite work out, because, due to the tricky shape of the mould, the sides of the cake were scorched and the centre was left uncooked. :< So didn't have Star Wars themed stuff to eat, but we celebrated the day by watching the old movies (and by making drinks).

On this week I've got back to a school work that's been kinda just waiting to be done, and I've also done some crafting for Mother's Day (that's on this Sunday in Finland). The card is still in the making, but the gift is starting to be ready. :)

"Love the giver more than the gift."

Aina ei oo niin helppoo ilmaista toiselle sanoin, miten paljo tästä välittää. Oon aina pitäny lahjojen antamista yhtenä konkreettisena keinona osoittaa välittämistä ja rakkautta, ja oon aina tosi ilonen, jos saan ite jotain lahjoja. Aina ei lahjojen keksiminenkään oo niin helppoo ja aina ei välttämättä saa ihan yhtä hyviä lahjoja, mut välillä taas paketista paljastuu jotain niin yllättävän mieluista, ettei oikein tiedä, miten päin olla tai miten siitä kiittää kunnolla.

Eli nyt aion käydä läpi joitain saamiani synttärilahjoja. Alotetaan romanttisimmasta lahjasta, eli korusta, joka on parissa postauksessa vilahtanutkin jo:

Ei liene epäselvyyttä siitä, keneltä elämäni tärkeältä ihmiseltä toi mahtaa olla. :) En oo vielä täysin varma, mitä teen ton riipuksen kanssa. Tossa mukana tuli ohut nahkanauha, mut en hirveesti välitä nauhoista. Toi ei kyllä toimi oikein oikean ketjunkaan kanssa, koska se on suunniteltu käytettäväks sen nauhan kanssa silleen, että tohon keskelle tulee solmu, niin se pysyy suorassa.

Oon kunnostautunu leipomisen saralla, ja sainkin jonkin uuden leipomistarvikkeenkin:

Vader-vuoka! Iik! Oon haaveillu tommosesta tosi pitkään. Onneks tällä viikolla on Star Wars -päivä May the Fourth, niin pääsen piakkoin testaamaan tota. ^_^

Tää seuraava lahja on ehkä yllättävin lahja, jonka oon saanu aikoihin, enkä tiiä, oisinko koskaan tullu ostaneeksi ite itelleni moista, mut ihastuin siihen kyllä heti; oonhan lapsesta asti tykänny lampaista.

Hih, ihana laukku. Oon kyllä kaivannu tommosta pienempää laukkuu esim. baarikäyttöön, joten tuli kyllä ihan tarpeeseen. Lisäks se on paikallista käsityötä, mistä oon myös iloinen, koska pyrin aina tukemaan käsityökulttuuria. (Suurimman osan antamistani lahjoista ostan paikallista käsityötä myyvistä liikkeistä.) Ja onhan toi ihan hiton sympaattinen. ♥

Koruja ei voi olla koskaan liikaa, ja rannekoruja miulla on muutenkin aika niukanlaisesti, joten etenkin toi rannekoru ilahdutti kyllä erityisesti tässä helmikorusetissä.

Jos synttärit on pääsiäisenä, niin luonnollisesti sillon saa myös lahjaks paljo pääsiäissuklaata. Se ei toki haittaa minuu, koska pidän kovasti suklaasta, mut lienee ymmärrettävää, etten viittiny niitä kuvata erikseen. Sen sijaan kuvaan pääsi jotain muuta herkkua:

No okei, toi lammastikkari on vähä pääsiäisteemainen, mut se on niin söpö. Pingviini-innostukseni muistettiin selvästi myös, koska pingviinejä oli niin korteissa kuin lahjoissakin. Käsintehdyt suklaapingviinit ja suklaa-chilikahvi oottaa vielä avaamista, mut ne molemmat on varmasti maukkaita.

Pingviineistä puheen ollen, lahjaksi tuli myös tällainen pikku kaveri:

Ja lopuksi sokerina pohjalla ainoo lahja, jota oikeesti toivoin ja ootin, eli rahallista tukea hiusten chisuoristukseen, jonka kävin itse asiassa ottamassa tänään.

Valitettavasti en ollu tarpeeks fiksu, että oisin ottanu ennen- ja jälkeen-kuvat, joten tukkakuvia ei nyt sit heru. Muutenkin tästä on vielä hankala sanoo, miten suora tää tukka nyt sit oikeesti on, koska se suoristettiin vielä käsittelyn päätteeksi, ja nyt sille ei saa vuorokauteen tehä mitään. Ensimmäisen hiustenpesun jälkeenhän se lopputulos sit varmaan paljastuu. Mut kyllä se aika suoralta näytti tänään kampaamossakin ennen sitä loppusuoristusta. ^_^ Jospa nyt ei tarviis enää aamuisin käyttää n. tuntii suoristuspuuhiin.

Hienoja lahjoja oli kyllä kaikki – myös ne, jotka ei kuviin päässy. Nyt taidan siirtyy ompelemaan haalareihin lisää haalarimerkkejä vappuu varten. :)

It's not always that easy to tell someone how they mean to you. I've always considered giving gifts as a concrete way to show one's caring and love, and I always get so happy if I get some gifts. But it's not always so easy to decide what to give as a gift and you may not always get as good gifts, but sometimes you get something so surprisingly pleasing that you don't really know how to react or thank the giver properly.

So now I'm going to show some of the gifts I got on my birthday. Let's start with the most romantic one, or the pendant that has already flashed in a couple of posts. There shouldn't be confusion about the giver. :) I'm not yet sure what to do with the pendant, because it had a leather cord with it, and I'm not that fond of cords. But it doesn't work very well with a chain either, because it's meant to be used with the cord in a certain way, that there'll be a knot in the middle, so the pendant will be straight.

Since I've been making my mark as a baker, I got a new baking thing: a Vader mould! Yikes! I've been wanting one for so long. Luckily the Star Wars Day May the Fourth is on this week, so I'll soon get chance to try the mould. ^_^

The next gift is maybe the most surprising gift I've ever got, and I'm not sure if I would ever have bought that kind of thing myself, but I immediately fell in love with it; I've been liking sheep since I was a kid. Hih, such a lovely bag. I've been needing a smaller bag like that for example using in bars. Also it's a local handicraft, which makes me happy, because I always try to support handicraft culture. (I buy most of the gifts I give to people from shops selling local handicrafts.) And it's so damn cute. ♥

One can never have too much jewellery, and I don't have many bracelets, so especially that bracelet delighted me in that pearl jewellery set.

If one's celebating their birthday on Easter, it's obvious that they get a lot of Easter chocolate as a gift. But I don't mind, since I happen to like chocolate a lot. But I suppose it's understandable I didn't feel like photographing them. Instead I took a photo of some other delicious-looking things. Oh well, that sheep lolly is a bit Easter-themed, but it's soo cute. Clearly people remembered that I like penguins, since there were penguins on the cards and as gifts also. The handmade penguin chocolates and the choco chili coffee are still waiting to be tasted, but I'm sure they both are tasty.

Speaking of penguins, I got also a little penguin plushie as a gift.

And last but not the least, the only gift I really wished and expected: monetary support for CHI straightening that I actually had today. Unfortunately I wasn't clever enough to take "before" and "after" photos, so there's no hair photos. And it's still quite difficult to say how straight this hair now really is, because it was yet straightened after the treatment, and now I'm not allowed to do anything to it for 24 hours. I guess the final result will be revealed after the first wash. But it surely did look quite straight at the hairdresser's before that last straightening. ^_^ Maybe I don't have to spend about an hour each morning for straightening my hair.

I really liked all gifts – also those that didn't make it to the photos. I think that now I'll start sewing more patches on my overalls for May Day. :) (It's quite a big student holiday here in Finland, and university students naturally celebrate it in their overalls.)
