Crafting

Eka kouluviikko onpi takanapäin. Oon ollut enemmän ja vähemmän flunssassa koko viikon, ja just kävin shoppailemassa apteekista lisää lääkkeitä. Eniten minulla on ollut nyt englannin/käännöstieteen tunteja, enkä tunne sieltä ketään. Olen peruskursseilla uusien enkun fuksien kanssa, enkä oikein osaa tutustuu niihin. Meiän suomen kielen fukseihin oon sentään hivenen saanut jo kontaktia, mut ne kuuluukin meidän joukkoon. Mie en varsinaisesti tunnu kuuluvani englannin fuksien joukkoon. No jaa, eiköhän tää tästä.

Apteekin lisäksi shoppailin tänään askarteluliikkeessä, ja askartelin jo kaulakorun sekä korvikset ostamistani korutarvikkeista:

Toi avainhan on siitä jännittävä, että tohon keskitankoon saa pujotettua vaikkapa helmiä, koska toi pääosa lähtee kierittämällä irti. Itse ainakin tässä vaiheessa pidän sen mieluummin ihan tollasena, mutta ehkä siihen joskus saattaa ilmestyäkin jotain koristeita. Ostin kans korttitarpeita ystäväni synttärikorttia varten:

Voisin kertoa hieman enemmän tuosta askarteluliikkeestä, koska se lukeutuu ehdottomiin suosikkiliikkeisiini Joensuussa ja käyn siellä hyvinkin säännöllisesti. Puodin nimi on Kätevä-Käsi, ja sieltä saa monipuolisesti kaikenlaista askartelutavaraa: maaleja, värejä, kartonkeja, nauhoja, tusseja, helmiä, koruaskartelutarvikkeita, siveltimiä, tarroja, nappeja, kynttilän- ja saippuantekotarvikkeita, kiiltokuvia jne. Itse ostan sieltä lähinnä kortti- ja koruaskartelutarvikkeita, ja eniten oikeastaan edellisiä. Ostan lähestulkoon kaikki korttitarvikkeeni tuolta. Joskus satunnaisesti saattaa Tiimarista tarttua mukaan jotain, mutta jos aion tehdä kortin jollekulle, suuntaan aina Kätevään-Käteen. Aina ei ole edes mielessä mitään valmista suunnitelmaa, millaisen kortin haluan tehdä, mutta hyllyjen välissä pyöriessä ja eri materiaaleja hiplatessa suunnitelma alkaa aina pikkuhiljaa syntyä. Ja jos on valmis suunnitelma jo, niin hyvin usein sen pystyy myös toteuttamaan liikkeen tuotteilla. Vähän saattaa toki joutua soveltamaan.

Jos yhtään kiinnostaa minkäänlainen askartelu ja jos sattuu olemaan liikkeellä Joensuun suunnalla, niin suosittelen kyllä käymään tuolla. :)

Illemmalla vien poikaystäväni elokuviin. Me mennään katsomaan The Expendables 2, mutta mie en oikein tiedä, miten tuollaiseen elokuvaan pitäisi pukeutua. :D Ah, pystyn ihan kuvittelemaan, miten sali pursuu testosteronia. Ehkä pitää ite laittautuu mahdollisimman feminiiniseksi just sen takia. No mut siirrynpä tästä pähkäilemään tarkemmin sitä. Hyvää viikonloppuu kaikille!

Translation:

So, my first school week is over. I've been having flu more or less the whole week, and I just came back from shopping more medicines in the pharmacy. I've had many classes of English and translation studies, and I don't know anyone there. I'm doing the foundation courses with the first year students of English, and I don't really know how to get acquainted with them. I'm happy I've been able to to make somecontact with our Finnish and literature first-years, but they do belong to our group. I don't feel like belonging to the group of the first-years of English. Oh well, maybe I'll get along.

Besides the pharmacy, today I did some shopping also in a crafting store, and I made already a necklace and earrings with the jewelry materials I bought. The key in the necklace is kind of interesting, bacause you can thread for example beads on the bar in the middle, because you can twist the head part off. I think that at least in this point I'm going to keep the key like that, but maybe I could add some decoration some time later. I also bought some card materials for the birthday card of my friend.

I could tell a bit more about the store, because it's one of my favourite shops in Joensuu and I visit it pretty regularly. The shop is called Kätevä-Käsi (something like 'Handy-Hand' in English), and you can get many kinds of crafting stuff there: paints, dyes, papers, ribbons, markers, beads, jewelry crafting materials, brushes, stickers, buttons, materials for soap and candle making, etc. Mainly I buy materials for card and jewelry making, and even more the card stuff. I buy almost all my card making materials there. If I'm going to make a card to someone, Kätevä-Käsi is the place I will head for. Always I don't even have a clear picture in mind of the card I want to make, but when I wander round the shelves and finger different kinds of materials, the picture starts creating. And if I already have a clear picture, very often I can carry it out with the products of the store. Sometimes I may have to adapt a little.

So, if you're at least little interested in any kind of crafting and happen to be around Joensuu, I highly recommend to visit there. :)

Later in the evening I will take my boyfriend to the movies. We are going to see The Expendables 2, but I have a little problem on deciding what to wear for that kind of movie. :D Ah, I can so imagine how testosteron will pour in the hall. Maybe I should try to be as feminine as possible because of that fact. Have a nice weekend!
