Everyone hail to the pumpkin song

Hauskaa halloweenia/samhainia/mitä juhlittekin itse kullekin! Ekaks haluun jakaa kuvan, jonka otin Vanha Viinakon Laki -kannanottoa varten ja jonka lopputulokseen oon aika tyytyväinen.

Jos joku siis ei oo sattunu kuulemaan tosta, niin tarkotuksena oli vaihtaa tänään FB-profiilikuvaksi kuva lempparialkoholijuomastaan kannanottona tolle järettömämmäks muuttuvalle alkoholilaille. Omaa lempparii piti miettii hetki, mut lopulta vastaus oli kuitenkin ihan ilmeinen. Ja halusin jonkin halloween-henkisen kuvan, kun nyt sitä aikaa tässä elellään. :>

Miun päivä alko tentillä, jonne suuntasin tän näkösenä:

Tentti tuntu menevän ihan hyvin, ja muutenkin on ollu mukava vaikkakin rauhallinen päivä, eikä rauhallisuus oo nyt illallakaan muuttumassa miksikään. Alkujaan olin suunnitellu meneväni tänään yksiin halloween-bileisiin, mut sit selviskin, että seuraavana päivänä kaverini pitää omat bileet, niin tulin siihen tulokseen, että kahet pirskeet peräkkäin voi olla liikaa. :D Ja kaverin bileet, jotka on myös samalla sen synttärit, voitti luonnollisesti.

Tänään tosiaan aion vaan rentoutuu, ehkä nauttia hieman punaviiniä ja pelata jotain kauhupeliä tai kattoo jotain teemaan sopivaa leffaa. Ja popsia noita söpöjä suklaanamuja, jotka tarttu viime viikolla karkkikaupasta mukaan. Oon säästäny niitä täks päiväks. :)

Happy Halloween/Samhain/whatever you're celebrating to each and everyone of you! First I want to share a photo I took for a Finnish FB event. I think it turned out quite well. So the point of the event was to change your FB profile picture into a photo of your favourite alcoholic drink as a take on Finland's crazy alcohol politics. (The alcohol laws will change here next year, and from then on it's forbidden to e.g. advertise any alcohol drinks or write about alcoholic drinks in your blogs and so on. That's all so that youngsters wouldn't get bad influence blah blah.) I had to ponder my own favourite for a minute or two, but in the end the answer was quite obvious. And I wanted to have a Halloween-themed photo since we're in the middle of it right now. :>

My day begun with an exam, and that's how I looked there. The exam seemed to be going quite smoothly, and I've been having a nice though peaceful day, and my evening is going to be the same kind. At first I had thought of going to a Halloween party tonight, but then I found out a friend of mine was going to have a party of their own on next day, and I came to the conclusion that two party nights in a row could be too much for me. :D So my friend's party which is also their birthday party naturally won.

So tonight I'm going to just relax, maybe have some red wine and play a horror video game or watch a horror movie or something. And eat those cute chocolate things that I bought last week in candy store. I've been saving them for this day. :)

Oh my sweet nurse

Eilen oli tän syksyn ekat halloween-bileet. Täällä on kieltenopiskelijoilla tapana pitää yhteiset pippalot, ja noi oli nyt sit ne. Mie päädyin ottamaan kuvia eri laittautumisvaiheistani, joten nyt saatte nähä, miten illan asuni ja meikkini valmistui.

Just ennen kotoo lähtöö pursutin vielä tekoverta suuhun ja annoin sen valuu leukaan pitkin, ja voilá! Kuvia ois ollu vielä enemmänkin, mut jostain syystä blogger haluu värjätä niistä muista silmät sinisiks. o_O

Mut oli kiva ilta, vaikka maanantai ei ehkä paras bileilta ookaan. :D Aamulla ei sit ollukaan enää yhtä viehkee olo kuin illalla, mut sellasta se elämä on. Seuraavat bailut ois luvassa viikonloppuna, enkä oo vielä päättäny, uusinko hoitsu-lookin vai kehittelenkö jotain muuta sit niitä varten.

Yesterday I was on my first Halloween party this autumn. Here it's a tradition that language students have their own party, and so yesterday was that. I ended up taking photos of the different phases of doing my face, so now you'll get to see how my make-up and costume were made up.

Just before leaving for the party, I poured some fake blood in my mouth and let it fall down my chin, and voilá! I had more photos too, but for some reason blogger wants to colour my eyes blue in them. o_O

But it was a fun night, though Monday may not be the best party day. :D Today morning I wasn't feeling that charming anymore, but that's life. The next party is on weekend, and I'm not yet sure if I'll be a nurse again or if I'll hatch something else.

Mmm, must be the season of the witch

Torstaina tuli jotenkin noitamainen olo, kun vedin päälle reikäneuleisen laatikkoponchoni, joka on tommonen vähä viittamainen.

   

Toi on kyllä ihana vaatekappale. Se on lämmin muttei kuuma, ja muutenkin tykkään tosta muodosta ja reikäneuleesta ja etenkin taskuista! Huuliin teki mieli laittaa suklaan sävyistä huulipunaa, ja silmämeikki jäi sit aika kevyeksi, kun huulet oli jo tummat. Ja kaulaan valikoitui tommonen amuletti.

      
         
Eilen satuin käväisemään taas kirpparilla, ja kyllä kannatti, koska löysin alla olevat levyt. Löydän kirppareilta aika harvoin mieluista musiikkii, mut nyt onnisti. Etenkin tota Malice Mizerin levyy katoin suu auki. Hintaa sillä oli 50 senttii. Mitä helvettiä oikeesti? Kuka hullu myy tollasta niin halvalla tai miks kukaan haluis myydä Malice Mizerin levyjä muutenkaan? :D No, toisen hulluus koitui omaksi onnekseni. ♥ Miulla ei aiemmin lempparijapsibändiltäni ollukaan kuin Bara no Seidou.

Kävin samalla vilkuilemassa myös Suomalaisessa kirjakaupassa, ja siellä taas sain töllistellä suu auki ihka aitoa goottineulekirjaa! Hitto vie, tämmönen onkin puuttunu käsityökirjavalikoimista.

Pitää varmaan ostaa toi jossain vaiheessa, niin voin laittaa äiskän tekemään miulle kaikkee. :D Oon ite niin hidas neulomaan, että kyllästysin varmaan viimestään puolivälissä, jos yrittäsin neuloo vaikka jotain paitaa.

On Thursday I was feeling kind of witchy, when I put on my hole knit rectangle poncho that reminds a cape a bit. It is such a wonderful piece of clothing. It's warm but not hot, and I adore the shape and the knit and especially the pockets! I felt like using a chocolate shade lipstick, and so the eye make-up became quite light, since the lips were already pretty dark. And for the necklace of the day I chose that amulet.

Yesterday I happened to visit a flea market again, and I'm happy I did, because I found those three CDs there. Usually I don't find music I like on flea markets, but this time was different. Especially that Malice Mizer album made my mouth drop open. It cost 0,5 €. What the hell seriously? Who is insane enough to sell it that cheap and who would want to sell MM CDs anyway? :D Well, one person's insanity was my luck. ♥ Before that I had just Bara no Seidou from my favourite J-band.

I visited also a book store, and there I spotted a real live Gothic knitting book! Jeez, the handicrafts books have been lacking a book like that. I guess I have to buy that in some point, so I can make my mother knit all kinds of things for me. :D I'm so slow knitter myself that I would probably get bored in the middle at the latest, if I tried to knit a sweater, for example.

Outfit of the day + bat muffins

Ootte ehkä huomanneet, että mustavalkoinen on miun lemppariyhdistelmä vaatetuksessa. Etenkin mustavalkoraidat on parasta, ja oon kerinny elämäni aikana kuluttaa puhki jo useemmat mustavalkoraidalliset sukkikset, jotka onkin vuosikaudet olleet yks pukeutumiseni peruspilareista.

Tänään päälle pääsi kiva pääkallomekko, jonka löysin maanantaina kirpparilta. Melkein jouduin muuten taistelemaan siitä erään toisen synkemmän muodin ystävän kanssa, mut onneks vaan melkein. :D Pääkallot on aika hienovaraisen pieniä, joten ne tarvii oman lähikuvan.

Kouluun lähtiessäni vedin tohon päälle vielä mustan pitkähkön neulejakun, koska pihalla oli lähemmäs 10 astetta pakkasta. Nytkin on vielä jotain viitisen astetta. Ei lokakuussa pitäs olla vielä talvi. :< Onneks ens viikolle on luvattu plussaa, niin lumet sulanee vielä pois.

Oon parin tunnin päästä menossa kaverin luo, jossa on tarkotus kattoo porukalla vanhoja mustavalkosia kauhuleffoja (mikä olikin yks syy, miks ostin tän leffaboksin viime viikolla). Aattelin sit leipoo sinne teemaan sopivia, lepakkokarkeilla koristeltuja turkinpippurimuffineita.

En ookaan pitkään aikaan esitelly leipomuksiani (enkä kyllä tiiä, kiinnostaakokaan ne ketään), mut noista tuli niin söpöjä, että aattelin nyt näyttää täälläkin. Koemaistajien (eli miun ja armaani) mielestä niistä myös tuli ihan hyvänmakusia, joten jospa ne maistuis muillekin leffailijoille.

You may have noticed that-and-white is my favourite combination in clothing. Especially black-and-white stripes are the best thing ever, and I've already gotten through multiple black-and-white striped tights during my life. For years they have been a foundation pillar of my dressing style.

Today I'm wearing a col skull dress I found on a flea market on Monday. I actually almost had to fight for it with some other fan of darker fashion, but luckily just almost. :D The skulls are quite discreet and small, so they needed a separate close-up.

When leaving for school, I put on also a black longish knit cardigan, since it was -10 degrees Celsius out. Even now it's still about -5. October is an autumn month, not winter. :< Fortunately next week should be warmer, so the snow should melt.

In the evening I'm going to go to my friend's place where we and some other buddies will watch old black-and-white horror movies (which is one reason I bought this movie box on last week). I decided to bake muffins decorated with bat candies, because they kinda suit the theme.

It's been a while since I've shown my baking things last time (and I don't know if anyone is even interested in seeing them), but those muffins turned out so cute that I wanted to show them here too. Me and my beloved tasted those, and we liked them, so maybe other movie watchers will like them too.

Something new

Mie harvemmin hankin esim. vaatteita uutena, vaan hyödynnän pitkälti sekä netti- että konkreettisia kirppiksiä. Tän postauksen uusia juttujakaan en oo ite ostanu, vaan sain ne ikään kuin perhe-etuna, kun vanhempani ja pikkusiskoni kävivät kylässä perjantaina.

Sisko toi supersiistin tuliaisen taannoiselta Kuopion-reissultaan. Väri on ehkä vähän hankala pääasiassa pelkkää mustaa käyttävälle, mut toisaaltahan mustan kanssa pitäs käydä kaiken.

Okei, pitää ehkä selittää tota paitaa vähän, koska oletan sen olevan hämmentävä yllätys monelle lukijalle. :D Mut joo, Despicable Me -leffat on suuria suosikkejani, ja ihastuin heti niiden keltaisiin pikkumiehiin. En osaa oikein sanoo, mikä leffoissa ja minioneissa oikein viehättää, mut oon vaan hirvee minion-fani ja ootan jo innolla ens vuonna ilmestyvää minionien omaa elokuvaa. Tää on lähipiirissä ihan tunnettu asia, ja itse asiassa Despicable Me 2:n sainkin vuosipäivälahjaksi poikaystävältä. :D

Mut joo, en oo vielä päässy käyttämään tota paitaa ihmisten ilmoilla, mut vähä suunnittelin laittavani sen heti seuraavana koulupäivänä eli huomenna. En kyllä vielä oikein tiiä, minkä kanssa tota voi oikeesti yhistellä, mut jospa se siitä.

Seuraavaks onkin sit varmaan hyödyllisin juttu, jonka oon saanu aikoihin: jotakuinkin vedenpitävät kengät. Äiti ystävällisesti sponssas nää miulle perjantaina Seppälästä. Ja en tiiä, onko noi nyt oikeesti ihan kumppareihin verrattavissa, mut ainakin tänään loskassa talsiessani pysy kyllä jalat ihan kuivina, jee.

Tuli kyllä tarpeeseen näillä säillä. Tänne sato taas eilen lunta, ja nyt on tosi märkää. Eihän noi kengät ehkä mitkään maailman näteimmät ja siroimmat yksilöt oo, mut ainakin ne tuntuu tukevilta ja vedenpitäviltä. Tänään tosiaan ulkoilutin noita ekaa kertaa, kun kävin kampaajalla, ja itse asiassa tähän uusien asioiden listaan vois lisätä myös tukan, koska muutettiin vähä tätä mallia. Yritin ottaa kuvaa lopputuloksesta, mut se olikin yllättävän vaikeeta yksin ja ilman kunnollista jalustaa. Ei tää toki hirveen radikaalisti muuttunu, koska kasvatusprojekti on kuitenkin edelleen meneillään, mut takaa tukka lyheni vähän, ja nyt se silleen pitenee eteenpäin.

Enää reilu viikko halloweeniin, iiks. Tänään tipahtikin postiluukusta taas yks asuuni liittyvä juttu. :) Mukavaa viikkoo kaikille!

I rarely buy e.g. entirely new clothes, but I mainly utilize both net and concrete flea markets. And I haven't even bought these new things in this post myself, but I got them as if as a family benefit, when my parents and my little sister visited me on Friday.

My sister brought me a super cool shirt from her recently made trip to Kuopio. The colour is maybe a bit difficult for someone who wears almost only black, but then again, they do say that black goes with everything.

Okay, maybe I need to explain the shirt a bit, since I assume it's a confusing surprise for many readers. :D So, Despicable Me movies are big favourites of mine, and I immediately took to their yellow little men. I can't really explain what so fascinates me in the movies and the minions, but I just am a huge minion fan and I'm already waiting anxiously for next year's minion movie. My friend and family know about this, and actually I got Despicable Me 2 as an anniversary present from my boyfriend. :D

But yeah, I haven't yet got a chance to wear that shirt in public, but I thought to do it on my next shoolday that is tomorrow. I'm not quite sure yet what to wear with it, but maybe I'll figure out something.

Next thing is probably the most useful thing I've got in long time: more or less waterproof shoes. My mother was kind enough to sponsor them for me on Friday from Seppälä. And I don't know if they are really comparable to rubber boots, but at least today, while I was plodding in flush, my feet didn't get wet, yay.

The shoes really hit the spot in this weather. It snowed yesterday, and now it's wet everywhere. The shoes may not be the prettiest and the most delicate ones out there,  but at least they seem sturdy and waterproof. Today I wore them for the first time, as I went to the hairdresser's, and in fact I could add hairstyle in this list of new things, since we changed the style a bit. I tried to take a photo of the result, but it was quite a difficult thing to do alone and without a proper camera stand. My hair didn't change very radically, since I'm still in the middle of the growing project, but the hairdresser cut it a bit more on back, and now it's longer on the front sides.

Halloween is already on next week, yikes! Today I received yet another thing connected to my outfit. :) Have a nice week, everyone!

I got snakes in my hair, I got spiders on my feet

No ei ollu oikeesti käärmeitä tukassa ja hämähäkkejä jaloissa tänään. Sen sijaan näytin tältä:



Siinä näkyy valitettavasti myös epäviehkeä keittiönurkkaukseni, pahoittelen. Enkä oo varma, oonko esitelly näitä kielinörtin lempparisukkiksia aiemmin, joten tässä vielä kuva niistäkin:

Ois kyllä kivempi, jos noissa ois ihan jotain järkeviä sanoja tms., mut onhan pelkät kirjaimetkin ihan siisti juttu. Mut melkeinpä vielä siistimpi juttu on tää monsteriboksi, jonka ostin itelleni halloween-lahjaks!

Miulla oli ennestään vaan Dracula-boksi, jossa on siis Lugosi-Dracula ja sen kolme jotain jatko-osaa, ja oon yrittäny ettii samanlaisii bokseja noista muistakin klassisista "monstereista" mut huonoin tuloksin. Mut nyt oli tullu uutuutena tommonen kaheksan leffan paketti, jossa on siis Draculan lisäks Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man, The Phantom of the Opera ja Creature from the Black Lagoon. ♥ Ehkä näitten parissa jaksaa ootella loppukuun karmivia bileitä.

Well I didn't really have snakes in my hair and spiders on my feet today. Instead I looked like that. Unfortunately my not-so-beautiful kitchen corner is also visible in the photos, sorry about that. And I'm not sure if I have shown before those language geek's favourite tights, so there's a photo of them too.

I think they would be even neater if they had some actual words or something like that in them, but bare letters are quite a cool thing, too. But almost cooler thing is the monster box I bought for myself as a Halloween present!

Previously I had only a Dracula box having the Lugosi Dracula and three sequels, and I've been trying to look for other similar boxes of the other classical "monsters" but without result. But now there's this brand new box of eight movies, including Dracula, Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man, The Phantom of the Opera and Creature from the Black Lagoon. ♥ Maybe these will help me to wait patiently for the creepy parties at the end of the month.

At a birthday party

Eilisilta tuli vietettyä kaverin synttäreillä. En ollukaan aiemmin käyny kyseisen herran luona. Iso osa illasta meni kylläkin ihaillessa juhlien isännän levyhyllyä, josta löysin yllätyksekseni monta lempparibändiäni. Oma levykokoelmani on harmillisen niukka, ja tuolta olisi löytynyt montakin omistamisen arvoista albumia.

Ostettiin synttärisankarille isommalla porukalla kimppalahja, ja miun tehtävänä oli sit askarrella kortti. Kuva siitä on jouduttu ottamaan sisävalossa, mutta jospa siitä jotain selvää saa.

Tein lisäks viemisiks (vegaanisia ja gluteenittomia) mokkapaloja (tai oikeestaan mokkaisia suklaapaloja), joista ei kylläkään oo kuvaa, koska miulla meinas tulla vähä kiire niitten kanssa. Vissiin niistä tuli ihan onnistuneita, koska kaikki syötiin illan aikana. :)

Samasta syystä ei oo myöskään kuvaa illan asustani, mutta naaman aattelin tallentaa kameralle pikaisesti ennen lähtöö juhliin. Huono valaistus on valitettavasti tässäkin.

Oli kyllä kiva ilta. Mut nyt oon lusmuillu tarpeeks, ja pitää siirtyy koulupuuhien pariin. Tää viikko on ollu aikamoista rentoilua, kun ei oo ollu mitään kiireellistä tehtävää tai palautettavaa, mut ens viikolla jatkuu taas normaali arki.

Yesterday evening I spent at the birthday party of a friend of mine. I hadn't been to his place before. I just kept admiring the host's CD shelf where, to my surprise, I found many of my favourite bands. My own collection is regrettably slim, and there would've been many albums worth owning.

Me and some other guests bought a shared present for the birthday man, and I was given the task of making a card. I had to tahe the photo of it in indoor lighting, but maybe you can make something out of it.

I baked also (vegan and gluten-free) chocolate mocha cakes, but I don't have a photo of them since I got a bit of a rush with them. Apparently they turned out quite well, because people ate them all during the evening. :)

For the same reason (rush) I don't have a photo of my evening outfit, but I thought to save my face on camera quickly before leaving for the party. Unfortunately the lighting sucks in this one, too.

I had a fun night. But now I've been lazing around long enough, and I have to start doing some school stuff. This week has been quite laid back, because I hadn't have anything urgent to do or submit, but next week is a return to normal.

Otsikon sitaatti kuvaa täydellisesti omia tuntemuksiani lokakuusta. Oon tainnu kirjottaa tästä aiheesta aiemminkin, mut lokakuu on kyllä ehdoton suosikkikuukauteni ― eikä vähiten halloweenin takia. (Vaikka halloween onkin oikeestaan miulle enemmän mielentila kuin vain yks tietty päivä.)

Ihan kuin fiikuksenikin haluis juhlistaa tätä upeaa kuukautta, koska se puskee innokkaasti pikku kukkia. Sain ton kasvin tässä vähän aikaa sit äidiltäni, ja yritän nyt sitä hoitaa tässä niin hyvin, että se säilyis mahollisimman pitkään hengissä. :D En siis oo mikään luontainen viherpeukalo, ja tähän mennessä parhaiten oon pärjänny kaktusten kanssa, joista vanhin oli miulla yli kymmenen vuotta. Sit se vaan kuivu kasaan.

                               
Aattelin nyt vaihteen vuoks esitellä, mitä teen, kun en jaksa suoristaa hiuksia. Jos käyn vaikka vaan ruokakaupassa, niin en kyllä viiti alkaa käyttää tuntii hiusten laittamiseen. Nää on jo onneks niin pitkät, että voi laittaa tukan vaan poninhännälle ja tarvittaessa suoristaa sit etutukkaa. En kylläkään oo sitä mieltä, että poninhätä-look käy miulle, mut eiköhän se jotain kauppareissuu varten oo ihan riittävä. Ja nyt kun sää viilenee, niin voi myös vetästä vaan pipon päähän.



















Toi pipokuva on tältä päivältä ja toi eka kuva viime viikolta, ja pitää kyllä sanoo, että tänään tuli vähä turhan kuuma tossa pipossa. Ei oo vielä ihan pipokelit kuitenkaan.

Pitää myös mainita, että en tällä hetkellä oo enää noin meikitön, koska ideoin just meikkejä halloween-asuuni, jonka tärkeimmät osat hain postista just tänään. Kylppäri on ihan tekoveressä. :D Ei vitsi, oon ihan innoissani tästä asusta, enkä jaksais oottaa kolmee viikkoo, että pääsen käyttämään sitä ihmisten ilmoilla! Tiedossa on varmaan ainakin kahet bileet, joista toisten ajankohta on jo selvillä. En paljasta mitään ennen niitä. :p

PS. En yhtään tiiä, miks kuvien jälkeen näyttäs olevan noin isot välit.

The quote in the heading describes perfectly my thoughts about October. I think I've written about this before already, but  October is absolutely my favourite month ― and not least because of Halloween. (Though for me Halloween is more than just one day, it's a state of a mind.)

As if my ficus wanted to celebrate this glorious month too, since it's eagerly pushing out little flowers. My mother gave me that plant a little while ago, and I'm doing my best on trying to keep it alive as long as possible. :D So I don't have naturally green fingers, and so far I've been best with cactuses. I had my oldest cactus for over ten years, and then it just dried dead.

For a change, I wanted to show you what I do when I don't feel up to straightening my hair. I don't think it's necessary to spend an hour for doing my hair, when I'm going to go just to buy some food stuff, for example. Luckily my hair is already long enough to make a pony-tail, and then I straighten the fringe, if necessary. I don't really think the pony-tail look suits me, but it's good enough for the grocery shop. And now, when the weather is getting colder, I can also just wear a beanie.

The beanie photo is from today and the first photo is from last week, and I must say that today was a bit too warm day for wearing a beanie, so I guess I have to wait a bit more with that beanie look.

I also have to mention that I'm not that makeupless anymore, since I was just planning my Halloween make-up. I received just today the main parts of my costume. There is fake blood all over my bathroom. :D Yikes, I'm so excited about this costume, and it's killing me to wait three weeks before I'm able to wear this in parties! I'm attending at least two Halloween parties. I'm not going to reveal anything before them. :p

PS. I have no idea why it looks like there as so huge space after the photos.
